On Friday, January 3, the Senate convened at 11:45am.
Pursuant to the Twentieth Amendment of the United States Constitution, at 12:00 noon today, the Senate convened the 2nd session of the 113th Congress.
The Senate stands adjourned until 2:00pm on Monday, January 6, 2014.
Under the previous order, following any Leader remarks on Monday, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S.1845, the Unemployment Insurance Extension Act with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.
At 3:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of Executive Calendar #452, the nomination of Janet Yellen, of California, to be Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System with the time until 5:30pm equally divided and controlled in the usual form prior to a vote on confirmation of the Yellen nomination.
At 5:30pm, there will be 2 roll call votes:
– Confirmation of the Yellen nomination and
– Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S.1845, the Unemployment Extension Act.
