Cathi Geeslin, Everytown for Gun Safety

The GunShine State ?

The NRA is pushing bills in 24 states that would allow guns in K-12 schools and force colleges and universities to allow guns on campus.

As a parent, I am genuinely frightened for my children.

The epicenter of this fight is in Florida — the gun lobby’s favorite state to test out extreme legislation.

The NRA has already introduced six guns-in-schools bills in the Florida legislature covering everything from kindergarten to college. There’s no other way to put it: this is Crazytown.

That’s why Everytown is launching a TV ad featuring some shocking quotes from the NRA’s own CEO, Wayne LaPierre. We’re telling lawmakers: Keep guns out of our schools!

Watch our new TV ad now — then donate $10 or more to help us make and keep ads like this on the air. Your donation will help fuel the fight to keep guns out of schools in Florida and across the country.

KEEP GUNS OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS

We are already terrifying an entire generation of school children with lockdown drills. Instead of introducing more guns in schools, we should be busy keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people.

Parents and educators overwhelmingly agree that no one but trained law enforcement and security guards should be armed in schools. And in 1999, the NRA’s own CEO Wayne LaPierre agreed, too.

That’s the simple, common-sense point our new TV ad makes.

We must speak up, as parents and concerned citizens, and stop the NRA’s dangerous guns-in-schools agenda before it gets any further.
