2017 has been quite a year. Amid challenges, division, and uncertainty, people and organizations refused to stand on the sidelines; instead, they joined with the UN and with each other to act for the world. The UN’s role as a platform for peace and progress is needed now as much as ever. That is why the UN Foundation continues to connect people, ideas, and resources to the UN to move forward on some of the world’s biggest issues.

Looking back on all we’ve accomplished with the UN and partners, I want to share a few highlights with you. Together, we have:

• Supported U.S. engagement at the UN, holding our largest ever UNA-USA Leadership Summit by gathering advocates from nearly 40 states and mobilizing Americans to send more than 200,000 letters to their members of Congress;
• Advanced the health and well-being of vulnerable families by helping immunize 42 million children, expand access to sustainable energy and modern contraception, and provide leadership training for 66,342 girls;
• Harnessed big data to combat gender gaps and launched an Data Innovation Fund in partnership with the World Bank;
• And so much more.

 this is just the beginning.

We will need your help more than ever in 2018 to support the United Nations and ensure we keep making progress toward a better world.

We can’t wait to take on 2018 with you. Hand in hand, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.
