Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in morning business until 3:30pm with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.
Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R.2055, the Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs and related agencies Appropriations bill.
At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Calendar #82, the nomination of J. Paul Oetken, of New York, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York with 30 minutes of debate equally divided between Senators Leahy and Grassley.
Upon the use or yielding of time (at approximately 5:30pm), the Senate will conduct a roll call vote on confirmation of the Oetken nomination.

The pending Johnson-Kirk amendment #556 (report on Arlington National Cemetery) to H.R.2055, the Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs and related agencies Appropriations bill has been modified. The modification provides for additional Senate and House committees to receive the report.

At approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will conduct a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination of J. Paul Oetken, of New York, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each with the time equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees with the Majority controlling the final half and the Republicans controlling the final half.
Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of S.1323, a bill to express the sense of the Senate on shared sacrifice in resolving the budget deficit.
The filing deadline for all first degree amendments to S.1323 is at 12:00pm on Tuesday, July 12^th.
The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
As a reminder to all Senators, Senator Reid filed cloture on S.1323 and on the motion to proceed to H.R.2055, the MilCon Appropriations bill; the Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs and related agencies Appropriations bill . Unless an agreement is reached, there will be up to 2 roll call votes Wednesday morning.
There will be no further roll call votes during today’s session of the Senate.

At 10:00am, the Senate will conduct a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S.1323.

The Senate Convenes at 10amET July 6, 2011

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S.1323, to express the sense of the Senate on shared sacrifice in resolving the budget deficit with the time until 12:30pm equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees, with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

At 12:30pm, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly party conferences.

The time from 2:15pm until 6pm will be equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

As a reminder to all Senators, the Majority Leader filed cloture on the motion to proceed to S.1323 during Tuesday’s session of the Senate. Unless further agreement is reached, this vote will occur during Thursday’s session of the Senate.

The first vote of the week will be on Tuesday, July 5^th on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S.J.Res.20. Senator Reid announced this vote will run longer than usual to accommodate Senators returning from the Independence Day holiday.
