The Senate Convenes at 10amET July 6, 2011

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S.1323, to express the sense of the Senate on shared sacrifice in resolving the budget deficit with the time until 12:30pm equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees, with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

At 12:30pm, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly party conferences.

The time from 2:15pm until 6pm will be equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

As a reminder to all Senators, the Majority Leader filed cloture on the motion to proceed to S.1323 during Tuesday’s session of the Senate. Unless further agreement is reached, this vote will occur during Thursday’s session of the Senate.

Senator Reid announced there will be no roll call vote on Monday, July 25th.

There will be no roll call votes during today’s session of the Senate.

    to be Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, with two hours for debate

      • Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S.782, the Economic Development Act. The Feinstein amendment #476 and McCain amendment #411 will be debated concurrently with up to 4 hours of debate with the time equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees.
      • Upon the use or yielding back of time (at approximately 2pm if all time is used), the Senate will proceed to 2 roll call votes in relation to the amendments in the following order:
          • Feinstein #476, as modified (to repeal the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit)

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business for one hour with Senators permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each, with the time equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees, with the Majority controlling the first half and the Republicans controlling the final half.Following morning business on Wednesday, June 8th, the Senate will resume consideration of S.782, the Economic Development Revitalization Act, with the time until 2pm equally divided between the proponents and opponents of the Tester amendment #392 regarding swipe fees.At 2:00pm, the Durbin amendment #393 will be withdrawn and the Senate will conduct a roll call vote in relation to the Tester amendment #392. The amendment will be subject to a 60-vote threshold.
