meep Monday & Fall/Winter landed

Fall and Winter have just landed … dodging the various puddles and or rain swells as well as some power outages but definitely not like other parts of the country …sigh***

President Obama is back in campaign mode after just one day of rest….

***Reports are that Mitch McConnell says his number one objective is to defeat Barack Obama …saying he is a one term President. Is this what independents want because if they stay home or vote for Republicans it will definitely end our move toward the 21st Century that we have been avoiding. The fact is Republicans created this deficit and  more Republicans in Congress means no compromising or cooperating with President Obama after the November midterm elections. It is safe to say knowing Republicans have no plans no solutions to offer Americans except keeping the house of Bush tax giveaways and investing more money in military defense means this report sounds like the truth though definitely un-American if you ask me.

It is important to remind folks that the mid-term elections have become a national event so be angry be critical be pro-active and make your democratic member of Congress hear you but do not vote against your best interest just because you are pissed and while the emphasis has been “the change we can believe in.” It is also important to know that this is the year of redistricting and this will affect all of our lives so vote for the Democratic Party knowing change is hard but consider the alternative if Republicans take over.

The media noise, the various levels of the truth and or overt lack of information given by talking heads to those trying to make up their minds to vote at all let alone which side of the aisle they prefer, you get the impression that folks out there are confused. I get being angry about the lack of cooperation from Republicans or the lack of movement to get the country back to work. When I hear folks on various media platforms say, they are mad that the stimulus did nothing i get pissed. It is obvious some folks have not been listening or are too gullible if they believe the BS coming out of limbaugh, steele, palin, cantor, mcconnell and others from the right. It is obvious these folks are hoping you either have no idea what is going on, have forgotten, or are so partisan you will go along with the program no matter what because you believe the change is going to threaten your lifestyle, which is just nonsensical.

In other News, The President, contrary to what Herald Ford said on meet the press tried bipartisanship though Republicans played games the entire time so his comments that this president has to hit the reset button of reconciliation if i understood  him correctly was a surprising if not silly comment. It begs more questioning about where he was for the last 20 months because the President often leaned to the right while democrats were screaming that Republicans have no intention of cooperating. The decisive moment came when McConnell, Cantor, and others got on camera promising not only the President but also the American public they would read, offer alternatives, listen, and consider the HCR bill while telling their colleagues all along to just say no to HCR. The action was despicable, offensive and undermined what most of us grew up thinking how democracy worked.

If talking heads are correct about the lack of democrats participating in the mid-term elections and Republicans take over and rule the House, the gridlock everyone thought was bad will become a nightmare if the crazy tea party members of the Republican party are able to push their family values platform regime on us. Is it so hard to understand that the financial crisis did not just appear out of the blue or the fact that President Obama did not create it. The house of Bush and his crew knew the economic collapse was coming far ahead of it’s inception decided to wait to announce it until the last minute but so many out there have forgotten the particulars maybe some of the information was left out. I remember McCain babble about how our economy is fundamentally sound while Obama was stating we have to look at it from all angles and if anyone had concrete ideas or solutions that seemed better than his, he would listen and Congress needed to work together at this time of crisis. The financial crisis was and still is a non-partisan reality and though the recession was deemed over, it just does not feel like it. It is still a reality to most of the middle class and has been used, abused, and manipulated by Republicans who blocked, stalled, and scale down true efforts to bring us out of the financial ditch, improve our status but in their effort to take back their county Republicans have done whatever is necessary to hold the middle class hostage.

I would like to know if Republicans will incite more wars, give more tax cuts to the rich, sit on their money, trade with other companies or send it overseas. The Bush tax giveaways to the rich did not save jobs or create new jobs contrary to what folks on the right would have us all believe. Wall Street has proved they cannot be trusted; the banks and the AIG types have jumped on the i will say one thing to the President and the American public but continue business as per usual which still has jobs being outsourced to Mexico and China. If you watch the Kudlow show you will see one CEO after another seemingly boasting how they are getting over on the American people because they are not just outsourcing for cheaper wage earners they think the US will eventually beat down the unions and wages will have to be lowered especially if Republicans manage to repeal the minimum wage… hey, Google your Republican member of Congress and find out exactly  where and what they stand for… you might have a rude awakening because Republicans don’t seem to want to help their fellow American on any level which is just more of the house of Bush days.  We all need to remind Independents that Bush did not seem interested in fixing any domestic problems but waging two wars and giving out two huge tax giveaways to the rich seemed important to him and his party will continue to neglect the middle and lower class putting profits over people.

weekend review &some News

Sunday buzz … rain wind and more rain…

What worries me …the possibility that people who have no experience, common sense or clarity may get on the floor of Congress and really ruin what use to be a great country if they “take back their country.” I guess you can plug in whatever that means for you though it sounds like an awful way to live if you are a minority on any level. A vote for Republicans is a vote against your best interest people and if you live on the Gulf Coast you have to ask yourself what have Republicans really done for you lately and do you have family friends co-workers who are Teachers, Cops, Emts, Firefighters …any type of Rescue worker? Because if you have been paying attention your Republican member of Congress voted against them and the thought of what our neighborhoods would look like should be on the minds of all who have yet to vote. The midterm elections will affect our children, our lives, and our future

President Obama has a day off then back on the road again on Monday heading toward the Mid-West. Lately, we have been hearing folks in the News stating the Tea Party movement has been infiltrated by some so extreme and so far right that we can no longer deny that race, religion and gender issues called family value platforms by their Political candidates might very well  reach the floor of Congress if given the opportunity. We all need to vote for Dems so this cannot happen but this so-called new “information” or News is not so much to those of us who have come into contact with Tea Party members either tweeting, on fb or leaving nasty vile comments on blogs or in response to online articles. The question is what took so long for “the Media” on whatever level to get on national tv and say yes …race, gender and religion issues are on their agendas and yes they have a problem with the race, gender preference, religion and  the policies of President Obama. So, if you want to have folks going on the floor of Congress without experience but willing to deliver change that is on the extreme right of all issues, definitely not willing to compromise or cooperate with the President vote for Republicans. If you have been listening to the right when they respond honestly they do have a problem with race, a woman’s right to choose, letting people love and or marry who they want and question separation from church and state. I believe in our Constitution and though the RTP say they are Constitutionalists how many times have you heard candidates, their handlers or people such as Palin when pressed sound as if they really do not like our constitution and plan on stripping out parts that give people they do not approve of less rights then themselves. I challenge people who seem to be upset with President Obama only after being in office for 20 months as folks who seem self-consumed. If you have been listening at all or understood the process by which Congress works some would be advocating change that puts more left of center people in Congress, but hey everyone has the right to their opinion i just think people like dan choi are not looking at the bigger picture. I am sure the delays have hurt many and have made dan choi upset enough to say he will not vote for President Obama in 2012 but the alternative in 2010 is all i can look at right now because the mid term results will dictate how we move forward. People of colour know what it feels like when their rights, religion, and lives are blocked stalled or killed for standing up for equal rights. In fact, our rights are still on the edge depending on the setting or State we live in. I believe in equal rights for all people but having a tantrum on national TV is odd though i am sure people felt that same way about Dred Scott and others who jumped out to fight for their own freedoms to live love and peruse happiness just like everyone else and on some level i cheer dan choi on because of his situation and passion to get change to happen now. I have to admit deep down in the recesses of my mind i am thinking equal rights takes time and who knew that in 2008 we would elect someone who might be able if Congress was in agreement deliver that along with so many other issues facing Americans today. I have been watching and listening to the anger and feel like instead of fighting the people in your corner, on your side of the issues why not fight the process and people right of center holding up progress, holding your issue hostage and being obstacles for the last 20 months. It is not the time to bite the group more likely to create the change we voted for and more effectively on the floor of Congress if we unite in solidarity with those not just more left of center but will vote for equal rights for all people. It is not the time to sit this one out or vote against your best interest …if you do then we all loose what was a positive movement in 2008 just short of the change we need because Senate Republicans have used the filibuster and the 60-vote rule to stop the move toward progress for all Americans.

It all seems quite obvious to me, Vote for the Democratic Party for the change we need and even though the right wants to practice exclusion if they get their country back Democrats -true Democrats – in Congress will vote on behalf of all Americans to back on track and into the 21st Century maybe on the road back to being number one in the Nation in all things with the exception of WAR … which if you are a Republican candidate for the midterms seems likely the hawks will want to stay and engage in some games

and who wants that …sigh

The President and Mrs Obama are out there whipping up the base and if you listen to the  Media BS it is a lot but maybe too late. I call BS but then it ain’t over til it’s over right?

The President will be in Minnesota today

While i believe in the right to freedom of speech, I do not believe that the speech should invoke fear, hate, lies, or death. I have a problem when “the Media” uses their platforms in such a way that causes folks to act out in ways that most of us know is not just vile but unacceptable. The current noise and or nasty rhetoric by crazies in the “News Business” should be reprimanded more often if not fired when they cross the line into ugly rhetoric and behavior gone really badly. It definitely has my blood boiling that stations so right of center; tv or radio choose to bait or send subliminal messages of negative behavior of their followers in such a way that we have to wonder and ask the question; can we hold Fox News accountable, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and or Glenn Beck accountable

We have a bi-racial President, who is kind, gentle, calm, cool, and definitely not an angry man and have had nothing but angry words, behavior, and hate spewed at him since elected to office. I am not saying do not criticize and yes we should hold him accountable but what is going on is the plan by Republicans to obstruct progress while wheeling and dealing behind the backs of their own constituents. Who in their right mind would have thought Republicans would use an economic crisis to ruin President Obama gain back control and throw all of us under the proverbial bus. The hate, the vitriol used to be disguised by some as freedom of speech, described as a reaction by others as a fear of government take over, fear of change and definitely by a group of folks clearly on the extreme side of any political issue. If given the opportunity, Republicans will take this country back. I do not know about you but my feeling is that anyone who considers themselves a minority will feel the impact of that statement whether you believe it or not and obviously it will not matter what side of the aisle you are on. If i am a Teacher, Cop or any other government worker my job will be at risk –if the Republican Tea Party takes control over in votes no matter what Political Party I support.

The election of 2008 had 53% voting for Barack Obama. The last administration failed us but I don’t think i have ever wished he(bush) were dead, wished ill will on any level to him(bush) yet the comments from the likes of rush l, g beck and so many has taken me back. I feel the hate through the TV, the lies, the miss-information so it seems important to be apart of that group beating back at the rhetoric verbally. The noise, misinformation and comments made by some ex and current people in politics is leaning far too right for me. Their use of  our 24/7 news cycles as sources to spread whatever news they can and in some cases sounds and feels like old style propaganda, has disrespectful language against the Office of the President and what the administration has been able to do in spite of the crap the right has been throwing at him.

Our President is a man who wants to put America back on track and instead of vilifying him Republicans should be cooperating to make the corrections needed to reflect our 21st Century living unlike the last guy who could have done something way before we fell into the ditch. The problem we all have is non-partisan and the ability to make the corrections should have nothing to do with the colour of his skin. The fact is 53% of the population wanted change, change is hard, takes time and obviously, if Republicans in Congress had participated in the process we would be in better shape today. Is it just me wondering why people honestly have forgotten what has happened over the last 20 months and how Republicans have said one thing and done another keeping or driving down the positive impact any legislation could have made by blocking, stalling or making the Senate scale down the bills are why we are still in a recession. I believe we all deserve the right to live a good life, affordable health-care a chance for making our lives even better with affordable education, green jobs and being an entrepreneur is definitely an American Dream and equal rights for all people. The move forward that the Democratic Party is trying to implement are not actions that are bad for Americans as the right would have us all believe and it is so frustrating to think people actually think investing in your fellow American is bad? If anyone is, even paying attention the last guy waged two wars, two huge tax giveaways, and last week said he wished he had privatized Social Security. I have to ask what information anyone sitting on the undecided fence needs in order to support and vote for the Democratic Party. I could not imagine voting for a Political Party who would prefer to invest money in defense instead of the people and engage in warmongering and who seemingly are willing, possibly trying to make the middle class or lower class disappear.

The list of things we could be subjected to by Republicans if they take their country back seem all faith based issues to me, social issues that quite frankly are none of their business and while they claim to have a family values platform that is just a disguise to control women, people of colour, poor, gays and straights who do not pass the purity test. I don’t know about you but i don’t want to be controlled by a family values regime…
