2023 – Is Summer Over Yet?

Just another rant

Summer is over

It’s a call to action after hearing the volume on stupid being turned up about as high, if not more, than any real American should have to put up with. We in the Democratic Party helped President Obama give Tea Publicans the boot in 2012. Now, It is up to the 81 Million plus to end the insane behavior of the Republican branches including Tea-Publicans, Freedom Caucus, and MAGARs on both the State and Federal levels. The Democratic Party in this 21st Century may disagree with each other. Still, WE need to stop the madness instead of beating up on each other and the President, get on the same page, do the people’s business, and make sure voters know that the new Republican Party, aka the MAGARs, have done nothing but run both Chambers of Congress into the ground.  If you are keeping up with what is going on in the House of Representatives, which seems to be about legislating against their own government. They must have met and decided that making it more difficult for the President would give them an edge and hope that Americans are stupid enough to think this is the American Way. FYI, it is not. We, as voters, see that working for progress has been replaced with revenge and some engage in inciting violence.  In addition, unless you have been living under a rock the President’s efforts to move the Country into the 21st Century for better standing, or status are slow if not next to nil. We must not forget when Rep. McConnell said, that his job is to make President Obama a One-Term President, which is also what most MAGARs push when they get the media to pay them attention, false impeachment reports, or use Hunter to hurt President Biden.

This man has wanted to be POTUS since he was a kid and has studied the job, changed, and evolved over time. President Biden is the epitome of the average Joe voter who with the help of friends and family pulled himself up by the bootstraps even while facing loss, pain, and hate. The Media hasn’t made the effort to give airtime to the good or great things that #BidenHarrisAdmin have done, their focus is on the extreme right and some feel they have given them a platform to pass on disinformation to poorly informed voters.  While that is not lost on us, and yes controversy is good for ratings, we the people must make sure that “the media” fact-checks the extremist candidates who seem to be spewing lies, and not only about the Biden family but the current state of our democracy which is definitely at risk, but it’s due to the possibility of an Authoritarian wannabe such as trump, and btfw we the people don’t want that as a U.S. President. The media continually points out the problems for D’s and treats some Rs as if they are not only privileged but more interesting to talk to. There are quite a few controversial possibly misinformed right-leaning politicians from the MAGARs Party running for office in various states who are not just unqualified but exhibit nutty behavior and that might be interesting fodder for the media, but they should not be allowed to hold prestigious positions of power in Congress on the state or federal level.

Reminder…

This is not the year of the Woman, but who can be the most discriminatory or racist then add in Women have no right to make their own decisions when it comes to abortion…  The fact is that a lot of women in the Republican Party are against the right to choose, which, if we listen, means giving up Autonomy; well the definition of Autonomy is as follows, and like we all know Words matter right.

So, read what errian-Webster.com says  …

The Origin of Autonomy

1)the quality or state of being self-governing, especially :

 the right of self-government

The territory was granted autonomy.

2self-directing freedom and especially moral independence
personal autonomy

3a self-governing state

Most, if not all conservative evangelical, Christians are against gays and some feel women in the Military is definitely a no no. To say these conservative family values are against the way real families live their lives is like saying we don’t have noses on our faces. They are folks who live different lives than the rest of us, and they intend to push their personal ideologies on Americans and continue to legislate them as well. En masse … Voters deserve and need to demand the freedom some on the right believe the 2nd Amendment gives them… the difference between having Autonomy means many things … Vs what an AR15 can do to families.

I certainly didn’t imagine having these kinds of people in Congress, let alone vying for the position of President. Yet, they seem far worse than anyone believed and IMO probably why paul ryan fled, now, reports are that he is seemingly all in.  We must all GOTV against a group of social conservatives that obviously are not our parents’ conservative opponents who may not share the Democratic view but, were able to come together to solve a lot of our country’s problems as Americans, putting party affiliation aside. Republicans, have taken risks since the midterm elections and are now setting their sights on the White House again like it should be part of constituent life. The idea of an American POTUS governing by religion is a big problem for me because I see religion as personal, which I would never force, push, or demand others to practice or legislate. We have freedom of religion but what the right and maybe others seem to be pushing is just wrong, it is offensive, and against the whole separation of church and state… right?

As right-leaning Tea publicans, now MAGARS , try to out -extreme each other, we all need to be aware of their lack of real substance, solutions, or plans that would be good for ALL Americans. I am no expert when it comes to individual rights, but it is apparent that folks on the right feel Americans get too many entitlements like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. The impression is, that they intend to take some if not all the individual rights from people of colour. The behavior of these so-called women on the right should be addressed on so many levels, they are helping to take Autonomy away. It continues to embarrass the rest of us, as they open up their mouths to say things that have moved from nasty sarcasm to extreme ideology to seemingly overt racism. The notion that any public figure or anyone who wants to call themselves a Public Servant and or Representative of the People should be speaking and representing one nation under god, not just a select few which if you listen closely, representing a “select few” is all I get from the conservative extreme right that support trump. The new Republicans, want Americans to accept a new way of life, which they call limited government. Unfortunately, that means and includes a ban on women’s rights, book bans, people cannot love or marry whom they want, people of colour and Muslims should not be trusted, and religion or church and state are inseparable. Our founding fathers were opposed to it.

Apparently, the new Republican Party is now against most of what our forefathers put on paper.

I don’t know about you, but if MAGARs take our government, it sounds like the end of the only Pledge that should matter to all Americans … the Pledge of Allegiance.

just another rant … revived

Failed Promises

Like what we are experiencing under the Republican controlled House of Representatives versus change to or a redirection of promises that President Obama has had to make on numerous occasions. It is obvious the two situations are quite different. The first two years of the Obama Admin the Republican Tea Party spent most of their time on the floor of Congress saying no, blocking, making the Democratic Party scale back or run away from legitimate bills that party of NO attached felonious amendments to that no member of Congress could in good conscious vote for. In the weeks and months following these just say no votes,  Americans in Public Service began losing jobs and the unemployment rate increased and will continue; Republicans without remorse started calling the unemployed lazy, unmotivated and if all else failed they should ask for charity. We have 2012 candidates running for President that are even less compassionate for those who are unemployed underemployed or in that 99%. Corporations are people too and if you are not rich? Well, that is on you.

The ultimate show of privileged behavior is when Republicans decided to hold the middle class hostage while demanding the bush bonus dollars be made permanent, under the guise of that top 2% being the job creators.  The campaign for the midterm elections considered an off year usually gets few voters out to vote though in what definitely is a first of many firsts in the Obama’s Presidency, the midterms were important to all Americans looking back. Yet, folks did the same ole same, some opted out on purpose and even more voted right of center on purpose. That is beyond my understanding but the whole notion of teaching a President a lesson is the one of the worse reasons to vote against your best interest. While most know the outcome of the midterm elections, I think that many people do not understand what truly happened. President Obama said he got shellacked and would try to make a move to be more bipartisan, though senator McConnell said if he wants us to consider compromise he would have to do, say and act like we want him to and on conservative airwaves McConnell said his job was to make Obama a one term President. The midterm elections were bad for everyone and as the months moved along buyer’s remorse set in though it took way too long for me. For the last three years, Americans have been hearing Republicans say that we need to create jobs. Mr. Boehner and his comrades definitely used the jobs, jobs, jobs slogan to win the House of Representatives in 2010. Sadly, these carpetbaggers have been waving one hand in the air while using the other to attack, slash, cut, and burn every effort to get our economy back on track.

Yes, President Obama did promise change and he has kept over half of them, he also stated that he could not make changes alone … we all would have to participate. That comment is a hard reality given the crap that the Republican Tea Party keeps pulling out of somewhere disguised with them saying they are listening to what Americans want. That claim is a proven falsehood, the promises the Republican Tea Party has made repeatedly has or …could put us at risk.

I certainly feel our country is at risk with failed promises, reckless and or provocative rhetoric but contrary to what we hear in the news …  it is definitely coming from Teapublican members of Congress and Governors.

I still have the Audacity of hope and change …

just another rant …

Isn’t it bad enough we have to hear Republicans , talking heads or Pundits use this moment to jack the President all around only to have to hear our own progressives and some libs say this that or the other about how the President has obviously mishandled crossing his t’s or dotting his i’s, I get heated when I hear this nonsense. I do not understand all the nic-pic nor is it worth the time because the lawmakers in Congress as territorial as they are create the laws and all those complaining about how the President should remind each other often. The ordinary person has no idea what is actually going on behind closed doors and we never will but taking what pundits, TV hosts or political strategists do for a living, as the truth is just wrong. I used to listen to those directly involved in our political process, which, if it is coming from the conservatives it unfortunately is growing in misinformation and a party meme that is not only extreme but gives me the creeps. The things happening in both Chambers of Congress since Republicans decided to go to the dark side has made this voter distrust most if not all the words coming from McConnell, speaker Boehner, leader cantor who put Profit before the People and then Grover Norquist  ahead of country. Americans should not have to suffer at the hands of, because of or due to a small group of unruly Teapublicans who seem to have forgotten they not only are supposed to be our fellow Americans they were voted into office to work for all Americans not just their respective States. Yet, the Teapublican have proved to be scary and controlling the leaders of their party. They are reckless, ruthless, and insanely responsible for the S&P rating downgrade forced upon the US. It is obvious that the brinksmanship that Republicans engaged in gave the S&P a sense of uncertainty and a lack of trust in any break in the gridlock.

This has been a tough week; the rhetoric on the airwaves is always toxic but the nastiness even hints of discriminatory talk, which has been ongoing for the last 24 months seems to be increasing. If you listen to Teapublican surrogates, many are trying to stir up trouble for the President and or second-guessing what the debt deficit, the bad employment numbers and the economy’s effect on his bid for a second term. It is sad, disappointing, let alone irritating to have to listen to my own Political Party try and put his behavior in a box. The point is he has to do what he can to get to the ultimate end and that is to bring back the Middle and Lower Class as well as our Democracy. It is a heavy lift to take on decades long of BS only to have not only the opposition work to bring you down by bring the econ to the edge of death but with friends like the pl the rest of us Obama Supporters need to remember … Barack Obama said he could not do this by himself… why? because of the obstacles that is Teapublican ideology

FYI – how often do we have to remind those out on the ledge …the opposing party is not your father’s conservative political brand.

The last guy seemed to have done everything for his Oil and Corporate friends and very few things for the Middle and Lower classes if at all.

We may not all agree with the President’s efforts but given what he has to work with, I just do not understand why most progressives and or libs have been the worst whiners ever who also seem to be holding President Obama at a higher standard than President in the past. I like to think about where we would be if the McCain/Palin ticket had won but not too long, you will get sick. There is no question; President Obama has obstacles to jump over, Republicans like McConnell who stated his job is to make Barack Obama a one term President as well as a goal post that keeps being moved by the Republican Party. President Obama has delivered on about 85% of all his promises even with all the bs going on all political levels and will need ALL of our support  – no whiners need apply as the professional and elite left demands seem driven with hints of childishness. Apparently, that type of behaviour is unacceptable from both sides of the political aisle and has been called out by Standard &Poor. Is anyone else offended that a group rumored to be among those “Raters” giving out random AAA ratings to worthless toxic waste is still recognized and respected. It makes me wonder just what side of the political aisle this group is from and given what we do know they need to answer some question and be investigated for their rumored part in our financial crisis.

    just another rant …

This week is big … debates & votes on payroll tax cuts – unemployment – jobs act – education – medicare – If you belong to believe in the notion that the Middle and Lower Class have rights … It is time to #OccupyCongress

We all know that progress of our Nation is slowing down even more given Congress is unable to work in a bipartisan way. Teapublicans, though in the minority have managed to do their best to stop most efforts to create or pass laws that will help ALL Americans and while the vote to support jobs for Vets was, sort of a No Brainer the vote count was not so much. If you are like me for the last two years of the Obama Admin, you probably flinched every time a Teapublican spoke now days i no longer cringe, or say I told you so. Why? Because we must, all go into Survival mode decide flight or fight to keep the Middle and Lower Class in play. It’s on!  It is important that we remind ourselves why and what some of our Republican members of Congress said about the November Midterm elections and not let this happen again. Yes, we are all suffering on some level because folks decided to sit out, vote right of center … whatever. Yep, I was worried then, many people were, and now we are all living with a daily barrage of crap on any given platform confirming the worry with good reason. The week before the midterms, I stated … What worries me, is the possibility that people who have no experience, no common sense, or clarity may get on the floor of Congress and ruin our Democracy. The fact is this group of Republicans is not our parent’s right of center Political counterparts. The Party of No have not only proved themselves to be more concerned about those top 2% by repeatedly holding legislation hostage in the name of those job creators and financial backers even before the midterms elections. It is more than obvious they do not care about reducing the deficit, climate change, Jobs, fair share or the middle or lower classes whatsoever  and race religion and guns keep cropping up.

Teapublicans like Norquist continue to state that giving them control of the House of Representative is what Americans wanted but they have failed to listen or accept the buyer’s remorse screamed at them at town halls, meet-ups, and or calls from their own constituents. While voters on both sides of the aisle want Congress to put people back to work not to touch Medicare, Planned Parenthood, NPR, or anything else related to a social program that is best run by the Government; like that new earthquake monitor Georgia will be getting , a definite move into the 21st Century contrary to Gov. Jindal’s attitude.

Teapublicans still chant, “Take back their country”, on all levels of government. In October 2010 I said, I guess you can plug in whatever that means for you though it sounded like an awful way to live if you are a minority on any level. Now, it is obvious that it means a vote against all of your best interests. If you live on the Gulf Coast or a State with a Republican Mayor or Governor, it is likely you have been asking yourself not only why you were so easily conned but what have Teapublicans really done for you lately.  One can only wish this were happening. If you have family, friends and or co-workers who are Teachers, Cops, Mets, Firefighters or any type of Rescue worker you probably are feeling as if your vote to take back your country was one of the last nails that will or could ruin this country as you know it. Yes, that is my opinion but come on, if you have been paying attention or living under a rock, Republican members of Congress, and some blue dogs worked and have voted against their fellow Americans since President Obama Admin took office. The main mission as stated by the likes of  McConnell and  Bachmann is making President Obama a one term President by voting against all of his policies which will invariably take us all down.

The midterm elections have  negatively affected children, friends, families … All of our lives, and if we give Teapublicans our country, they will ruin our futures.
