No doubt about it: Information and truth are powerful tools. Armed with them, there’s almost nothing we can’t do. But for a lot of reasons, information can be hidden, or distorted. That can make it hard to see the truth, even though it’s always still right there in front of us. This can be especially true when it comes to the climate crisis. This is where Repower America comes in. I’m Josh Nelson, and I’m the Repower America New Media Director. I believe in the powerful role that online tools like blogs can play in exposing the truth about the climate crisis and what it’s doing to our planet, and I’d like to introduce you to the Repower Blog. Meant to be a resource for people who want to know the facts about the climate crisis, over the past few months, we’ve really kicked our Repower Blog into high gear. As we begin to make decisions about what content we will post in 2011, I’d like to get your thoughts. Check out the Repower America Blog and share your thoughts by leaving a note in the comments. http://acp.repoweramerica.org/repowerblog On the Repower Blog you can find stats on clean energy solutions and talking points on the latest climate science. You can share posts with other climate voices across the Repower America community — and help us tell a story about positive action to address the climate crisis that’s already happening across the United States, even if it’s not happening in Washington yet. But more than anything, our blog is about you — and we want your input. What would you like to see us blog more about in the future? We’ve just posted an open thread on the blog to gather your ideas — please visit it now and share your thoughts: http://acp.repoweramerica.org/repowerblog After you comment, take a look through some of our recent posts. To make it easier to find what you’re looking for, our posts are divided into the following categories:
Click on any of the categories above to explore our previous posts. The Repower Blog is a chance for all of us to shine a light on the truth about the climate crisis. The more you contribute to it, the more powerful it can be. The truth is a powerful thing. Thanks for all that you do. Josh Nelson |

Dear Friend,
With 2011 just a few weeks away, it’s time to send a clear and powerful message to climate deniers and polluters: Momentum is on our side, and we can’t be stopped. The climate movement faced considerable setbacks in 2010. But even the worst polluters are starting to realize that when it comes to protecting our planet and building a new foundation for the U.S. economy, they are on the wrong side of history. They can doubt us and delay us. But there’s nothing they can do to stop our clean energy future. Last week, thousands of Repower America members voted to select 2011’s official T-shirt. Wearing this T-shirt is a way for everyone across the country to proclaim their belief that our clean energy future is undeniable. Everywhere you look, momentum towards a clean energy future is building. The science of climate change is considered beyond dispute by all but a few scientists, governments and NGOs. More and more communities and local governments across the country are demanding renewable resources, and companies around the globe are adopting climate-friendly business models. I wish I could tell you that the fossil fuel industry has seen the writing on the wall and is getting ready to change. But you and I know that when people are in denial they don’t let facts stand in their way. Instead, I can tell you this: In the weeks and months ahead, it’s more important than ever for us to continue fighting for the clean energy future that our children and grandchildren deserve. Donate $50 or more today to get your free, limited edition Repower America T-shirt. The climate movement will never back down as long as supporters like you keep stepping up. Thanks for all you do, |

Decide which T-shirt we should make
Repower America is designing a T-shirt and you don’t have to be a fashion expert to weigh in. We’ve narrowed it down to two choices. Which one is your favorite?
Whether you’re part of the climate movement because you want to save money on your electricity bill or because you want to save the planet for your grandchildren, you know it’s important for supporters to come together in 2011. Climate deniers and the fossil fuel industry are emboldened, and it’s up to us to show that we will keep standing strong.
The truth is, we’re already winning this fight. Electric utilities and other corporations are taking steps to reduce their emissions. Windmills and solar panels are dotting the landscape from coast to coast. And more and more car owners are shopping for fuel-efficient vehicles.
What we need now is a way for supporters everywhere to send a clear and powerful message: We’ve got momentum behind us, and we won’t be denied our clean energy future.
That’s why Repower America is rolling out a new T-shirt exclusively for Repower America members. And we’re counting on supporters like you to help us select the best one.
Decide which T-shirt we should make. Vote here:
