What century are they in?

I’m warning you: This isn’t pretty.

The Republican National Convention and Donald Trump have reaffirmed their 2016 party platform. It’s even worse than we expected.

In their new platform, Republicans:

  • Call coal a “clean” energy source
  • Approve of Donald Trump’s xenophobic plan to build a wall along the Mexican border
  • Approve of the cruel practice of “conversion therapy” for LGBTQ individuals
  • Call for overturning marriage equality
  • Reject any action to combat gun violence

And there’s more, but this is scary enough. It’s scary enough that our opponent in this race stands in lockstep with Donald Trump. It’s true — on major issues facing our state — Republicans Bill Bryant and Donald Trump are indistinguishable. Whether it’s opposing LGBTQ equality, raising the minimum wage, or taking common sense steps to reduce gun violence, Bryant and Trump share the same Republican policy agenda.
