…INCREASED THREAT OF LANDSLIDES CONTINUES TODAY IN WESTERN WASHINGTON…

Heavy rains have come to an end over Western Washington this morning. The amount of rain in the past few days has put extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat of landslides. The threat will continue through today. The break in the steady rain will reduce the threat Thursday.

High Wind – Warning – Hood Canal, E. Puget Sound, Bellevue, and Vicinity

HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 1 AM PST WEDNESDAY

What

Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.

Where

Hood Canal Area, East Puget Sound Lowlands and Bellevue and Vicinity.

When

From 1 PM this afternoon to 1 AM PST Wednesday.

Impacts

Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Tips

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
