Fidelity is hoping nobody notices that it cut off funding for the Southern Poverty Law Center, the organization that helped bankrupt the Klan. Today, we’re making sure its own customers do.

As Fidelity donors gather in Rhode Island for a philanthropy convening starting TODAY, Color of Change hired a mobile billboard to circle the venue as participants come and go.

At the same time, we launched digital ads targeting its donors with a simple question: why is Fidelity doing Trump’s bidding and blocking donors like you from supporting SPLC?

Here’s why Fidelity is our target. After Trump’s Justice Department indicted SPLC in a politically motivated attack this April, Fidelity moved first to block its donors from sending money to the organization through their donor-advised funds (DAFs).

Vanguard Charitable, DAFgiving360, Goldman Sachs Gives, Thrivent Financial, and Benevity followed. But other donor-advised fund sponsors have not cut SPLC off. Fidelity made a choice, and with SPLC’s trial delayed until next year, that choice takes that funding away for more than a year.

This is Fidelity doing Trump’s bidding by blacklisting organizations daring to challenge white supremacy. And if it gets away with it, SPLC won’t be the last organization targeted.

More than 50,000 of you have signed our petition demanding Fidelity reverse course. We organized thousands of the financial giant’s own customers to send letters and call it out over social media.
