It’s dirty trick #1 in the Rove playbook

When you’ve got dirty laundry, don’t apologize for it. Instead, just throw it at your opponent.

That’s exactly what the Republican attack squad is trying to pull off.

They’re claiming that my fellow House Democrats who consistently stand up for good paying American jobs are actually the ones to blame for jobs getting shipped overseas. Worse yet, they’re relying on millions of dollars from pro-outsourcing special interests to launch their attacks. Shameless.

We can’t let their lies take hold because we failed to act. The DCCC has got rapid response ads ready to fight back with the truth, but we simply must raise $117,337 more by tomorrow’s ad buy deadline to get them on the air.

Contribute $5, $10 or more to House Democrats’ October Rapid Response Fund before tonight’s Midnight Tomorrow and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a group of committed Democrats. Your generous support is urgently needed to help our Democratic candidates fight back against Republican attacks.

It won’t surprise you that the Pulitzer Prize winning Politifact called the Republicans’ baseless attacks “FALSE.” It would be comical if the stakes of this election weren’t so high.

With early voting already under way, sitting on our hands is not an option. We all know what happens when you let smears like this go unchallenged. None of us can afford to look back on Election Day wishing we did more to fight back. And we certainly can’t let the Republicans and their front groups dominate the airwaves in the final days of this Election.

RE: The Choice

I need you to make a choice today — a choice to help finish what we started together.

Voters go to the polls just three weeks from today. If we let up now, we’ll wake up on Election Day wishing we did more to fight back against the tea party mob and their corporate special interest backers.

That’s why I am writing with a very specific ask today — to own a piece of this campaign. If you could give $28 today, it would cover a grassroots organizing kit for one volunteer, if you gave $35, it covers an actual radio ad in one of our too-close-to-call districts, and $144 covers the cost per point of television in another tough district for us.

We are in 75 make-or-break districts and with 8 more states starting early voting this week, we must raise an additional $500,000.

Please rush an urgent gift today before Friday’s deadline to wire money to campaigns.

Together, we can be the difference between victory and defeat on Election Day.

In jujitsu, whenever you get hit, you turn it right back against your opponent. The same is true in politics.

The Republicans are using the final days of this campaign to attack Democrats with the financial resources of Big Banks, Big Oil, and Big Insurance companies, all channeled through secretive outside groups.

We must turn this force right back against them by tattooing the real agenda of these corporate special interests onto every Republican candidate they are supporting.

Time is running short. We need the support of every Democrat committed to stopping a corporate takeover of our elections to raise the $27,896 more we need before tonight’s TV ad buy deadline hits.

Please contribute $5, $10 or more to the DCCC’s Rapid Response Ad Fund before our Midnight Tonight deadline. Your support will help Democrats remind voters who is behind these secretive outside group attacks and hold the Republicans fully accountable.

These outside groups have euphemistic names like “Americans for Prosperity,” “American Crossroads,” and the “American Future Fund.” That last one is the most ironic, since their singular goal is to take America right back to the past by bringing back the exact same Republican agenda that drove our economy into a terrible ditch.

We cannot remain silent in the face of these attacks on our courageous House Democrats who have worked so hard to move America forward.

As we have learned from our successful election victories, the only answer for this kind of combat is combat.

There is no doubt that we will retain our Democratic House Majority as long as we have you in this fight. We cannot wake up on the day after Election Day with any regrets.

It’s getting ugly out there.

None other than Sarah Palin announced she’s going to sic her tea party cronies on us in 20 make-or-break races. She’s even hopping aboard Republicans‘ “Fire Pelosi“ bus to spit her special brand of venom. Give me a break.

We can’t let these bozos beat us because we sat on our hands when we had the chance.

Early voting ballots are already going out so we’ve gotta act fast. The DCCC is getting ready to place a make-or-break advertising buy that will make a difference in toss-up districts, but they need to raise $184,664 more before Friday’s ad buy deadline.

Can you contribute $5, $10 or more to Democrats’ Rapid Response Ad Fund today? This ad buy deadline is so important that a group of committed Democrats will match every dollar you give.

Want to hear the only two words more nauseating than Sarah Palin? Speaker Boehner. Don’t wake up on Election Day with a case of the woulda, coulda, shoulda’s. Act now.

No Regrets

I don’t have a crystal ball to predict the future.

I can’t tell you exactly how many seats will be won or lost on Election day. But I can tell you that — with your help — I am confident that Democrats will retain our Majority in Congress. The actions we take this week will make a big difference in the ultimate outcome. That is because, as of today, early voting has started in more than half the states. The next 4 days are essential to our success.

Last week, Republican Leader Boehner pledged $1 million to go after House Democrats in tight races. We must match that million before Friday’s deadline to wire money for next week’s ad buys. We can’t afford to fall behind now.

With so many races being called “toss-ups”, every dollar you give will make a difference. Nobody wants to wake up the day after the election regretting that we didn’t do more. It’s getting down to the wire and we have to pull out all the stops to win.
