It’s one of the nastiest voter suppression schemes we’ve seen: This week, in Black and Latino neighborhoods in Ohio and Wisconsin, an anonymous group started running outrageous billboards that try to scare people away from voting.1

Allowing an anonymous advertiser to create an atmosphere of fear around voting just as the early voting period begins is unacceptable. Please join us in demanding that Clear Channel immediately take down these offensive and dangerous billboards (and please ask your friends and family to do the same):

These billboards are clearly designed to intimidate voters, and they’re part of a coordinated right-wing attack on the voting rights of people of color. The billboards are hosted by Clear Channel, a media conglomerate owned by Bain Capital — the same company that Mitt Romney co-founded.2 Clear Channel has tried to avoid any responsibility for the ads, saying that the group who paid for them is responsible for the content. But Clear Channel has rejected billboard ads many times in the past.3,4,5

The myth of widespread “voter fraud” has been used to justify voter suppression efforts again and again. As a result, we’ve seen new restrictions on voting and voter registration, including discriminatory voter ID laws and voter roll purges. The fact is that voter fraud rarely occurs. In fact, voter fraud happens as infrequently as death by lightning.6

Clear Channel syndicates some of our country’s most conservative commentators like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, and now it is allowing the myth of voter fraud to intimidate Black and Latino voters. Please join us in demanding that Clear Channel immediately remove the billboards, it only takes a moment.

President Obama has fought for Native American communities to increase opportunities for tribes and individual tribal members. The President has respected and worked hard to strengthen our government-to-government relationships.  This administration also recognizes our history together and acknowledges the unique heritage of Native peoples that includes you in the dreams that we all share.

Republican women share their history with the Republican Party and how the party’s views are no longer aligned with their own. They don’t support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and share how Romney and Ryan are wrong for women.
As they share:
“If you truly believe in a small government. That government shouldn’t be deciding what I can and cannot do with my own body.”
“There is no way on God‘s green earth that I would consider voting Republican.”
“I don’t even want to think about them having control—as a woman I don’t.”
“If you’re a conservative woman, and you believe in small government, then Barack Obama is your candidate because he’s keeping the government out of the decisions that should remain between you and God, and you and your own conscience.”

What anti-choice can do to your family

NARAL Pro-Choice America
They really laid it all out last night. Paul Ryantold the nation that a Romney-Ryan administration would oppose abortion in almost all cases. He claimed that providing women with basic health care is somehow a violation of religious freedom. And we agree entirely with Joe Biden: the next administration will have the power to reshape the Supreme Court, which could determine the future of reproductive freedom.Does it seem like you’re in the middle of a bad dream? It can’t be true that the anti-choice, anti-woman Romney-Ryan ticket is pulling closer to President Obama in the polls every day. It’s not possible that the extremist politician on stage last night could be elected vice president of the United Statesin less than four weeks…is it?It is possible. And it will happen. Unless we do something about it right now.

Please, Help us tell undecided pro-choice voters how terrible Romney, Ryan, and other extreme anti-choice candidates would be for women, and help support all our grassroots and lobbying work to protect choice at all levels. We need your help right now.

We don’t have much time. But we DO have a plan. We know the voters we must reach. We know how to persuade them. We know how to win.

All we need is you. Please join us and support our work ensuring reproductive rights for generations to come. Otherwise, what you saw last night could be the start of a long four years.

Sincerely,

Nancy Keenan

Time to Contribute $$ Democratic Party : Future and next Generation

I am writing to you not knowing what side of the political table you sit at hoping some of you will be voting for Barack Obama for a 2nd term. If not, so be it. I want you to know that I am asking you to Contribute $$ to the Democratic Party if you have not already and consider what our democracy will be move toward with a Romney/Ryan ticket. We have 28days before Nov.6, some of our fellow Americans participating in early voting as we speak. In some parts of the Country, Voter Suppression is rearing its ugly head and is beyond disheartening because voting is the voice of “we the people” is being stomped on by voter intimiation . I do not usually ask for money but given what Mr. Romney and Paul Ryan are offering equality in all its forms is at risk.   So, I am formally asking for a Contribution to help the Democratic Party continue what we aspired and started in 2008 and was ignored by the Republican party who met the same night Barack was sworn in. Some in the Republican Party stated compromise was a dirty word while others turned toward race and fear in 2010; it was the turning point. The extreme right gained control and exacted out record numbers of filibustering as well as obstructing major legislation that would have shortened our recession.

If, you are so inclined to donate and vote for Barack Obama to fight against the unlimited money taking over politics at http://Barackobama.com

I support Obama because he represents the bold and drastic changes we need NOW action not the lip service we received from the last administration. The President of the United States knows and understands we need to pay attention to our debt deficit, our environment, that we need to narrow the gap between the haves and have none and we all know we need better health-care.

Last, our future is our children and that means better educational opportunities… but that is at risk with the Romney and Ryan plan or road to posterity

Thank you for your time
