Try not to burst into tears when you read this:

Tea Party Republican Congressman John Fleming would have a rough go of it under President Obama’s new plan to make millionaires pay their fair share. In fact, he told MSNBC yesterday — and these are his words — “by the time I feed my family, I have maybe $400,000 left over.”

Must be tough. Let’s make his life tougher.

If committed Democrats in Seattle and across the country chip in $4 before our big reporting deadline to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on September 30th, we’ll have the grassroots strength to support President Obama’s plan and kick out-of-touch Republicans like John Fleming out of Congress.

As President Obama put it yesterday, “This is not class warfare. It’s math.” It’s unfair to ask seniors to give up the Medicare benefits they have earned while multi-millionaires pay taxes at lower rates than secretaries.

The world will be watching our fundraising totals on September 30th to determine whether Democrats are united behind President Obama’s plan. We must have a powerful showing.

Campaign 2012


The critical September 30th fundraising deadline is the primary focus of
the campaign for the next week and a half, but two things happened this
week that you ought to be proud of:

— President Obama laid out the Buffett Rule: a proposal to help bring
down our deficit by asking millionaires and billionaires to pay their
fair share in taxes. It’s a position that more than 70 percent of
Americans agree with, but something that too many millionaire
politicians don’t have the guts to propose.

— “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” officially became history. It’s done. That’s
something that we’ll tell our kids about — and this President helped
finally do it.

What happens in the next week and a half is up to you.

The deadline we face in nine days is serious. It’s the official FEC
filing deadline, and it’s not arbitrary — it’s built into our
campaign’s budget plan. It will determine what kinds of resources we can
commit to which states as we expand our ground game.

Rocket science?


It’s not rocket science.

Republicans have to choose whether to defend tax breaks for Billionaires and Big Oil companies or to protect the middle class, seniors and American jobs.

As President Obama said, “It’s not class warfare. It’s math.”

But each of us also has a choice to make: Will we stand with President Obama to create jobs — or not?  Will we take on the Tea Party’s smears and mischaracterizations — or not?

I can tell you the political world here in DC will be scouring our September 30th FEC fundraising report to see if grassroots Democrats are strong and united behind President Obama’s plan to create jobs. We’re nearly halfway to our $1 Million grassroots goal.
