The Senate stands in adjournment until 2:00pm on Monday, April 15, 2013.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate be in a period of morning business until 5:00pm with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.
At 5:00pm on Monday, April 15^th, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #21, Beverly Reid O’Connell– to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California with up to 30 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Leahy and Grassley or their designees.
Upon the use or yielding back of time (approximately 5:30pm), there will be a roll call vote on confirmation of the O’Connell nomination.
The Senate will continue to consider S.649, the Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013 during the week of April 15^th.

Mr. Hultgren demanded the yeas and nays and the Chair postponed further proceedings on the question of agreeing to the Speaker’s approval of the Journal until later in the legislative day.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 3:00pm with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.
Following morning business, the Senate will begin consideration of H.R.1, the legislative vehicle for the emergency supplemental appropriations bill.
At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider the following nominations:

Executive Calendar #833 Fernando M. Olguin, of CA, to be US District Judge for the Central District of California and
Executive Calendar #875 Thomas M. Durkin, of IL, to be US District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.
There will be 30 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Leahy and Grassley or their designees. Upon the use or yielding back of time (at approximately 5:30pm), the Senate will proceed to vote on confirmation of the nominations. It is expected there will be a roll call vote on the confirmation of the Olguin nomination and a voice vote on confirmation of the Durkin nomination.

At 2pm today, there will be a moment of silence to honor the victims and their families of the tragic shooting in Newtown, CT.

UN DISABILITY TREATY – Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Treaty–noon vote Tuesday

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S.3254, the DoD Authorization bill.
During Friday’s session of the Senate, cloture was filed on S.3254. As a result, the filing deadline for all 2^nd degree amendments is 4:00pm on Monday.
At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #760, the nomination of Paul William Grimm, of MD, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland with up to 30 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Leahy and Grassley or their designees.

The first hour will be equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees with the Majority controlling the first half and the Republicans controlling the final half.
As a reminder, cloture was filed on the motion to proceed to S.3414, the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 on Wednesday. If no agreement is reached, the cloture vote will be on Friday. However, we hope to reach an agreement to vote on Thursday.

This morning Senator Coburn asked unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to the immediate consideration of S.3326, a bill to amend the African Growth and Opportunity Act to extend the third-country fabric program and to add South Sudan to the list of countries eligible for designation under that Act, to make technical corrections to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States relating to the textile and apparel rules of origin for the Dominican Republic-Central America-United States Free Trade Agreement, to approve the renewal of import restrictions contained in the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act of 2003, and for other purposes; that the Coburn amendment, which strikes the African Growth and Opportunity Act section of the bill; and the bill be passed, as amended. Further that when the Senate receives a House companion bill, the Senate proceed to its immediate consideration, all after the enacting clause the text of S.3326, as passed, be inserted in lieu thereof; and the House bill, as amended, be passed.
