Dear Friends, Americans already pay the highest prescription drug prices in the world – and now the big drug companies are trying to make us pay even more. They’re spending millions to try to convince Congress to undo the Medicare “doughnut hole” deal that lowers seniors’ drug costs. The good news is that we’ve already won this fight once, and we can win again! The doughnut hole deal that Congress signed earlier this year was a huge win for seniors who are struggling to manage the high cost of prescription drugs. But the big drug companies don’t want to sacrifice their profits so you can afford the medicine you need – they’d rather break the deal and go back to price-gouging seniors, and passing higher costs onto those who can least afford it. That’s why they’re pulling out all the stops to try and lobby Congress to overturn the deal, and raise seniors’ drug costs even higher. It’s crucial that we make our voices heard, and show Congress that we’re watching, we vote, and we won’t accept any deal that raises our drug costs even higher. Thanks for speaking out today on this important issue. Sincerely, Fred Griesbach |
