Students to Notre Dame & Trump: Hands Off Our Birth Control!
Last fall, the Trump-Pence administration issued two rules intended to let employers and universities deny insurance coverage for birth control in direct violation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Not just one, but two federal courts blocked those rules. But rather than accepting those courts’ decisions on the matter, the Trump-Pence administration began entering into secretive, illegal settlement agreements with dozens of companies and universities to empower them to flout the law and deny birth control coverage to thousands of people.

That’s why we and our partners at Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and the Center for Reproductive Rights filed suit Tuesday on behalf of a group of undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Notre Dame affected by this shady attempt to erode their reproductive rights. We’re suing the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Treasury, and Labor, as well as Notre Dame, to make it very clear that these underhanded attacks on our birth control and our bodies will not stand unchallenged.
