I am more confident than ever that we will retain our Democratic House Majority, as long as we stand together in these final weeks.
Our next wave of advertising could help secure Democrats in toss-up races — but I need your continued support to make it happen.
That’s why as a thank you for all you have done so far, I want to offer you a special opportunity to enter to win a chance to join President Obama and myself at a dinner in New York City on September 22nd.
In response to another doubter who also happens to be a hater of the “Obama Regime” with typical rightwing rhetoric. I respect your opinion; i may not agree but i will not call you names or think less of you. I do not know you; however, i did vote for Obama and will again because Republicans/Conservatives have proved themselves useless over the last twenty month. Republicans have no one in charge; they have no solutions only complaints. The Bills passed by the Obama Admin have made it possible for a better future for all Americans. Yes, improvements need to made to those bills but that can only be done if everyone left of center gets out and votes this November because this is a pivotal moment in the progress needed in America
The Obama Administration is not practicing exclusion unlike Republicans who have made it quite clear what they plan to do if they take control of Congress. Republicans seem to feel helping your fellow man is not important in a time when things are so bad because they keep putting corporate profits before the people. This attitude will not improve our plight. If anyone needs a reminder, all we have to do is look to our past and by all accounts, the mostly sane people know and might admit that the house of Bush made numerous mistakes after walking into office with a surplus. The house of Bush under stress, maybe misinformed decided to wage 2Wars and gave 2huge tax cuts for the wealthy. If that was not enough those so-called people the upper 3% who Republicans say create jobs is trying to pass off as the truth. The fact is the house of Bush spent the surplus left by BillClinton. They spent the surplus on something(s) and then sent more money to wage wars, outsourced jobs and basically throwing the middle class under the bus and stomped all over us.
The solutions Republicans have offered up since Obama took office consist of scaled down versions of Bills int the Senate that are just band aids; thus slowing down our road to recovery. They are advocates for the top 2% and that 2% has been getting breaks far too long. It is obvious that Bush, Cheney and Paulson all f’d the people of the United States and because of that we have to rely on the government. Again, if you watch the House of Cards/cnbc you would understand why Wall Street types or capitalists like Bernie mad off and others like him engaged in creative accounting or just plain ole corruption like Corporations like AIG created a monster and the pay out by aig to various Banks was great. The bets against the people or corruption worked its way overseas to become something too big to fail. The questions i would like answered are many but one would be why did the house of Bush wait so long to do anything to solve the problem before the collapse happened. We all need to ask ourselves what kind of Capitalism do we want. If it is the kind of Capitalism that creates monster Corporations that abuse the rules, then you are foolish.
Capitalism does not mean firms should engage in cooking the books, secret transactions and or becoming bigger than their sum value or investing in schemes … that — is what happened …
Prior to a vote on the small business jobs bill, Senator Olympia Snowe, who eventually voted no, described her frustration with the countless delays this legislation has encountered, by her Republican colleagues nonetheless…. (more info)
Senate Democrats today discussed The Clean Energy Jobs and Oil Spill Accountability Act that was introduced earlier this week. Democrats are trying to pass this legislation to create jobs, lower consumers’ energy costs, protect the environment, and hold BP accountable for the Gulf Coast oil spill. Senate Republicans want taxpayers to foot the bill for BP’s disaster and let BP use endless legal battles to run out the clock on those whose livelihoods they destroyed. The Republican plan also does nothing to create jobs or reduce our nation’s dependence on oil. … (more info)
So, we have very bad weather on the East Coast with family friends and tourists leaving or stuck somewhere because they made the decision to wait out hurricane Earl. The best plan during hurricane season is to follow the mandatory evacuation efforts and it would be one less person to have to worry about because things happen, things that are not planned and as we all know if people are missing it is up to first responders to go find those people which increases the number of people at risk. Though it is commendable that folks want to stay put and protect their property but it does put a strain on the people who are paid to save us and we all need to remember putting ourselves at risk affects others during hurricanes and floods. Anyway, lets hope we have far and few hurricanes as we move into fall and winter. We have yet another oilrig explosion which begs the question why moratoriums are important. It is yet another bit of evidence about doing what is right for everyone. We all need to call 202-456-1111 to ask the President to go back and file another moratorium request for the Gulf Coast based on the latest incident. The fact is that each and every Well needs to be checked or deemed safe to operate before letting them restart full operations.
On Monday, President Obama accused Republicans of stalling and blocking a separate $55billion legislation that would cut small business taxes. It is unfortunate that the public fails to see what Republicans are doing to not just Democrats but to their own constituents. It is the hope of Senate Democrats that they can get this small business package passed. In my opinion those people who own small businesses on both sides of the aisle need to get on the phone and tell their member of Congress that it’s time to move forward not backward and please people think about what will happen if things get even worse. It will send our first responders, teachers, police and the unemployed under the bus.
The President also commented on what he is currently working on regarding our economy and it will include as reported by Cnn, “that his economic team is identifying additional measures that will make a difference in promoting growth and hiring in the short term, and increasing our economy’s competitiveness in the long term,” he continued by stating that “Steps like extending tax cuts for the middle class that are set to expire this year. We will redouble our investment in clean energy and R&D, rebuilding more of our infrastructure for the future. Further tax cuts to encourage businesses to create jobs here in the United States.”
The idea that people are willing to vote for the Republicans while being misinformed about what President Obama has done for all Americans over the next 20months and if you are willing to admit you are not sure please go to the White House blog and find out definitely read to get the facts from your own member of Congress then compare and contrast that against reality. I will bet you will come back and decide to vote for the Democratic Party…and FYI if we can keep the House and load the Senate up with Democrats we can get the rule of 60 out of the way, we can get if folks have the courage to vote for a public option as well as other things Republicans have managed to stall, block and strike down. Let me point it out for you –Republicans have said no to all everything that will help Americans get back on track.
As we all enjoy the long weekend due to the Labor Day Holiday and or pray for those getting slammed by hurricane Earl we all also need to remember Katrina the BP disaster and all the things that did not get done. If you watched TV last weekend it was very apparent that the local and state government did not do their jobs for their constituents. It is beyond me to think seven years have passed without much work getting done while folks like Gov. Jindal say No to big government but has his hand out for more money just like other Republican Politician. The idea that blame the Obama administration for being the symbol of everything they hate, promote fear mongering, spewing hate while plotting to take down the very people trying to help them out. It is so hypocritical offensive and sad to think these people may actually take over our government and cut off programs the were put in place to help our fellow man only to be called bailouts by folks like Cantor, McCain, McConnell, Bachmann, Boehner as well as other so-called Republicans/Teabaggers who might just be dangerous to even their own constituents.

As we roll into the Labor Day Holiday and hurricanes continue to slam the East Coast. We have News of another oilrig explosion, the Middle East peace talks have started, and many candidate debates for the November election are getting heated and somewhat ugly. The Islamic community center is being used on a daily basis as a tool of fear by folks on the right to scare or put the fear of something in white people. The idea that it is working to some degree is so offensive let alone the relationship to the talk around our Constitution. I cannot help but think these reactions are related to how folks like Gov. Brewer and McCain are projecting onto others regarding SB1070 …the “Other” that somehow someway needs to be controlled and treated differently.
The overt attacks on Muslim Americans who lived worked and died in NYC on that awful day 9/11 continues to happen on an daily basis …fear- any fear mongering of any kind should not be accepted. It needs to stop and while i feel someone in the Republican Party could put a stop to the constant fear mongering. I definitely will not hold my breath. The projection of fear and falsehoods coming from the right still stirred up against President Obama has become an annoying yet effective rouse on the American people. Its starting point is not obvious but the Media on all fronts have given the story legs by the amount of coverage. The coverage in my opinion has now provoked folks into hate and or what seems like actions of hate crimes. The move toward violence is based on the rhetoric coming from the folks on the right. I guess it has always been there but now it seems to be coming to the surface without any editing. The things said, the actions being encouraged against Muslim Americans by people We the People put into public service is offensive and does not represent what my family taught us at home or at school.
I will admit that I find it somewhat amusing to see how easy folks on the right want to throw out labels to describe President Obama’s actions. It does seem to be a nasty primal reaction to the unknown that they definitely are projecting on others who seem weak in a time when the jig is up so to speak. People should respect this President more –respect the office of President more- Joe Wilson’s behavior was unacceptable and seems like just another example of the attitudes seemingly accepted by the right and encouraged by what I definitely feel are people of weak minds acting out. Separate but equal …or are we moving backward to a time when life was separate and definitely not equal.
Albert Einstein said, “Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weaker minds.”
With Wall Streets creative accounting procedures, this finally came to an ugly head after years of betting against the people. If you need a reminder just watch the show, “House of cards”, by David Faber on Cnbc. It was a cruel and vulgar view but an awakening moment at how greed affects the mind. The movie was a truthful documentation of the nasty journey our economy took devised for who, by who and how it (they) brought all of us down with them. Now, while we all wait for Congress to come back from recess and the November elections we have to wade through the BS currently on the 24/7 News cycle and much of it is just not worth the folks spewing it out. I definitely do not watch faux News and Cnn is becoming more of an issue everyday.
I thought the News was or maybe i am just naive but I feel the News should be balanced fair and truly devoid of all opinions that are not true anymore and the opinions can be very disrespectful of President Obama and that bothers me. I cannot say I felt that way about Bush maybe some with Clinton but the talk seems or is different, the comments are as if they feel they are above President Obama. The President definitely is educated, smart and above the middle class i do not get the impression that most in the Media completely respect Obama
if we have to subscribe to labels … call me a Marxist who believes in Socialism at this time ….. We need someone who cares, who is socially responsible and who believes the gap between the haves and have none needs to shrink … school me …what can be wrong with caring for all the people of the US … not just the one percent… especially since that one percent has been wheeling and dealing starting from the house of bush and trickled down to main street … gotta admit it’s time for a change.
Obama is not a socialist or a Marxist … he is a Christian with centrist behavior as the President of the free world. Though i believe he must move more left of center to get what he needs to be done, I will give my hope faith and trust that he has learned where Republicans stand and what their agenda is moving forward. It is with great hope that everyone comes back to the Peoples business …get the Democratic Party informed on how voting this November will create the change we all voted for in 2008. It is quite sad to watch folks muddy the truth with miss-information about why the economy has not improved, why we needed to make sure teachers, police, firefighters were keep in place and why helping your fellow man is obviously is apart of being a Democrat because Bachmann and other Republicans are calling it a bailout. The notion that we have Boehner saying when will it all end when will the bailouts stop and he was talking about unemployment for All Americans including his own constituents are affected btw. The question is they listening to the rhetoric coming from the mouths of Republicans and or Tea baggers. Republicans want to repeal everything this President has done that will help get us back on track, help get us all back to work yet Republicans by way of saying NO in the Senate because of the 60vote rule. Think about it -Boehner and other Republicans said no to your family friends and associates but want to keep the Bush tax breaks, which btw were not paid for and were scheduled to expire. My question is for anyone to answer …do you realize these actions were not paid for so who will be the ones to pay…obvious answer is the Middle Class. It this what people want? Who out there has a voice of reason telling you that going back to what we had means more trouble more chances of actually falling off that cliff the last administration failed to pull us back from. I still do not understand and want to know when did they actually know there was trouble as well as why did they wait until the last minute …before the 2008 Presidential election? I have my theories, but the whole thing should be a warning for all those wondering just what plan Republicans have to get the US back on track.
