Be a Seed for Change
I needed a place to sound off. To increase awareness on some issues we should all know and care about, start a dialogue, get people to sign a petition(s), offer and post some info from folks who know, challenge the people who think they know. I feel we should Question not only their comments, views, and reviews but be a part of a community who believe in action not lip service, my 2cents or more.
It’s time for a change … & contrary to what is going on now… I still have the Audacity for HOPE and CHANGE

I support Obama because he represents the bold and drastic changes we need NOW in Washington, DC … he believes in action, not the lip service we’ve gotten from the last administration… he knows and understands we need to pay attention to our environment, that we need to narrow the gap between the haves and have none, better health-care. Last, our future is our children and that means better educational opportunities…
Americans should demand nothing less than … Equal rights for everyone in all its forms.
The change Americans believed in 2008 … is now one we must all take part in and fight for so, look for, sign, and or comment on Petitions available. Use the petitions to voice your opinion, tell me what YOU think, support, or push Congress for… “We the People” GOTV for Barack H. Obama 2012

Yet, Reflects our 21st-century society … characters in Politics and Pop culture who denounce the dangers of sacrificing humanity for intellectualism while expressing concerns about the staggering progress of science and technology.
Who also condemn opinions on class and the reactions of people as the barriers break down comparing where the various possibilities and relationships collide or cross paths while looking with judgmental eyes at the dichotomy between reason and passion.

Safeway to hero: you’re suspended

C – What would you do if you were in a grocery store, you turned into an aisle, and you saw a man beating his pregnant girlfriend? Would you run for help? How long would that take? Would it be too late by the time security arrived? Ryan Young worked at the meat counter of a Safeway supermarket. Reports say that when Ryan saw a customer push and kick his pregnant girlfriend last month, Ryan stepped in to stop the beating. According to the press, Ryan’s actions earned him praise from his local police chief, but not from his employer. Instead of treating Ryan like a hero, Safeway claimed Ryan should have called security and suspended him without pay while it investigates the “altercation.” Pending the results of that investigation, Ryan could be fired for good. Doug Castro is a security guard who shops at the Safeway where Ryan works, and he believes Ryan did the right thing by intervening. That’s why Doug started a petition on Change.org asking Safeway to lift Ryan’s suspension and give him backpay for the income he lost during his involuntary time away from work. Click here to sign Doug’s petition. Ryan says one reason he felt so compelled to intervene is that he’s an expectant dad himself — his wife is 5 months pregnant. “We’re expecting a child,” Ryan says. “I’ve been suspended for just about a month now without pay for doing something I feel was right, that police said was right.” Indeed, local Police Chief Ron Langford told reporters, “In my mind, in this case Ryan did the right thing.” The police have already turned over security footage of the incident to prosecutors so that the man who beat his girlfriend can be charged, yet Ryan has been suspended for almost a month with no income. Doug believes that if thousands of people sign his petition, Safeway will bow to public pressure and put Ryan back on the job. Thanks for being a change-maker, – Tim and the Change.org team |
Stand UP for Medicare … Sherrod Brown
I’m proud to call myself a progressive. I know what our community has achieved over the years on behalf of working families. And I’m proud to stand with fighting progressives like you any day of the week.
Click here to sign this important petition.
But there’s never been a more important time for fighting progressives to stand together than right now. Medicare — one of our proudest achievements and a critical element of seniors’ economic security — is under attack.
Click here to stand with fighting progressives and help defend Medicare!
This isn’t the first time Republicans have tried to pass the Ryan plan, which would end Medicare as we know it and leave seniors out in the cold when it comes to health insurance. But the far right only has to win this fight once — we have to show that we’ll always be there to defend this important pillar of American society.
By signing my petition, you won’t just be helping to defeat this latest Republican attack on Medicare. You’ll be sending them a clear signal that fighting progressives like you and me will always be there to fight back whenever Republicans threaten the economic security of American seniors.
The far right is determined to get its way sooner or later. They think it’s just a matter of time before our coalition cracks and our defense of Medicare weakens. They’re willing to try as many times as it takes.
We have to show them that we’ll never waver in our defense of Medicare. Please sign my petition today — let’s see how many fighting progressives we can put together to show the GOP that our coalition is stronger than ever.
It’s not enough to win this fight once. We have to make a strong enough statement that it resonates for years. We have to show Republicans that Medicare will always have defenders in the fighting progressives of America.

100,000 Demand Thomas Recusal
Because of you, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas got 100,000 messages last week telling him to do the right thing.
We carried those 100,000 messages to the court’s front door in a petition demanding that Justice Thomas disqualify himself from the big health reform case that will be decided by June.
Health Care for America Now and The Other 98% went to the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., and delivered a 334-foot long petition demanding that Thomas recuse himself because of his blatant disregard for legal ethics.
Click here to view a one-minute video of the delivery.
Justice Thomas’s wife has been employed as an agitator on behalf of conservative groups hostile to health reform. He has also been involved socially and politically with groups militantly opposed to the law.
Many who signed the petition are lawyers and retired judges, government officials and prosecutors. They are disgusted and appalled that Justice Thomas doesn’t see how he’s hurting the reputation of the Supreme Court.
Our 100,000 voices are trying to tell Justice Thomas to do the right thing and avoid ruling on a case that has already put more than $600,000 in the Thomases’ bank account.
We aren’t giving up.
Thank you for your support.
