Nowhere else I’d rather be … Sarah Benzing

I knew when I came on as Sherrod’s campaign manager that this would be a tough fight. And, believe me – it’s not easy to plan a winning campaign when you’re facing a larger special interest spending gap than any other Democrat in the country.

But there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. The nearly $3,000,000 worth of attack ads Karl Rove and his pals have thrown at us already tell me that I’m working for the right guy – a true progressive who represents a real danger to the special interests’ monopoly on political power.

And small-dollar contributions from thousands of progressives like you tell me that we can win, no matter what the special interests have in store.

If you haven’t had a chance to help Sherrod win by making a contribution to our grassroots campaign, now’s a great time. And if you’ve given once, now’s a perfect time to double down on your support by giving again!

Like you, I’ve watched these powerful interests conspire to paralyze our government and hurt our middle class. I’ve watched them smear progressives and try to buy elections. I’ve watched them lie about our agenda and hide their own.

And let me tell you: It’s a privilege to be able to fight against them every single day on this campaign. Sherrod says he takes Karl Rove’s onslaught of attacks as a badge of honor. And none of us here at the campaign are afraid of a tough fight.

I hope I can count on you to share that same spirit – and I hope you’ll consider clicking here and making a contribution to make our campaign possible. Even $5 would help, so please give today!

There’s no one I’d rather be working for than Sherrod Brown. And I’m incredibly proud to be part of a campaign where we don’t back off our progressive values and we don’t back down when we’re attacked. But it’s your support that makes it all possible. And I hope you’re ready for this fight.

Please click here to give now!

Thanks for making this all possible.

a message from Patty Murray …join the march to reverse Citizens United

Great news – we’re nearly halfway to our goal of 100,000 Citizen Cosponsors to reverse Citizens United and fight Karl Rove’s unregulated attack dog politics. But we’re still missing your name!

Will you join us? We need 100,000 Citizens Cosponsors by Saturday – the second anniversary of Citizens United’s assault on our democracy.

Help us send a clear message to Karl Rove: We won’t look the other way while you use unregulated corporate cash to attack Tammy Baldwin and Sherrod Brown, destroy President Obama and seize complete control of Washington.

Support Senator AL Franken

With so much at stake in 2012, I’m doing everything I can to help Democrats win across Minnesota and around the country. But every time someone asks me if Midwest Values PAC (MVP) can help out another great candidate, the answer is the same: “I’ll have to ask my team.” By which I mean you.

After all, it’s your support that has made it possible for MVP to get involved in some of 2012’s most important races, supporting progressive heroes like Sherrod Brown and Kirsten Gillibrand. And, of course, we’re standing with Minnesota’s own Amy Klobuchar, Keith Ellison, and Tim Walz.

But I want MVP to be able to support even more great candidates in 2012 — which is why I’m asking you to help me help them by making a contribution of $5 or more today!

I’ll give you a perfect example: Elizabeth Warren. This progressive champion and consumer crusader is running for Senate in Massachusetts, and she’d be a powerful voice standing up to the special interests in Washington.

I’m proud to give her my endorsement — but I want to be able to do more. Your contribution to Midwest Values PAC will make it possible for me to stand with even more great candidates like Elizabeth when they need it most — so click here to donate today!

I wish I could help every single one of our party’s great candidates stand up for Medicare and Social Security, fight for good jobs and clean energy, and take on the right-wing special interests. And with the Senate majority at stake — and the House in play — there are lots of races to choose from.

I’ll keep fighting to support progressive candidates around the country no matter what. But MVP can only help if MVP members like you are there with me.

So, on behalf of all the progressives hoping MVP will be there for them: How about it? Can you contribute a few dollars to help me elect great Democrats in 2012?

Thanks for all you to do support me — and all the other great progressives out there.

August …Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

We need to win August. Let me tell you why.

Every single month is a separate fundraising battle with the GOP. Winning these battles means we pick up momentum, and more races get funded. Losing these battles means momentum is lost, and we won’t be able to fund enough races. Pretty simple.

But does that matter now, in late August? You bet it does. Losing a monthly fight will allow Republicans to attack early, taking potentially competitive seats off the map right now. Imagine if Barbara Boxer’s first Senate run had ended before it started because a flood of unanswered attack ads drove her out of the race.

If we win every monthly battle, we can protect future progressive champions and current champions like Sherrod Brown, and make sure President Obama sees four more years. If everyone joins in and we can raise $55,000 in the next three days, it should be enough to win August.

And besides, wouldn’t beating the GOP to end the summer be worth $5? Click here to help make it happen.

Each month is a competition, plain and simple, us vs. the Republicans. Help win August.

Best,
Jason

new polling … Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

Hey, we’ve got some new polling that I wanted to show you:
Democrats are already competitive in two GOP-held seats, in UT and NV.
Democratic incumbents in OH and PA (Sherrod Brown and Bob Casey) look strong

GOP efforts to sabotage the economy for political gain are not paying off – yet. But Republicans are reading the same polls and writing big checks. Karl Rove’s group just made a $20 million ad buy in crucial swing states (including Nevada). We have no margin for error in 2012. If they flip just 4 Democratic seats, we lose the Senate.

Our FEC deadline 48 hours from now will help determine which states we can compete in, and which we must let go. We want to compete everywhere we’ve got a shot at victory. Your gift now can help make that happen. If we fall short, we’ll leave states on the table.

If everyone kicks in $5 we’ll have the $201,000 we need in the bank before midnight Thursday.

Thanks,
