Try not to burst into tears when you read this:

Tea Party Republican Congressman John Fleming would have a rough go of it under President Obama’s new plan to make millionaires pay their fair share. In fact, he told MSNBC yesterday — and these are his words — “by the time I feed my family, I have maybe $400,000 left over.”

Must be tough. Let’s make his life tougher.

Rocket science?


It’s not rocket science.

Republicans have to choose whether to defend tax breaks for Billionaires and Big Oil companies or to protect the middle class, seniors and American jobs.

As President Obama said, “It’s not class warfare. It’s math.”

But each of us also has a choice to make: Will we stand with President Obama to create jobs — or not?  Will we take on the Tea Party’s smears and mischaracterizations — or not?

I can tell you the political world here in DC will be scouring our September 30th FEC fundraising report to see if grassroots Democrats are strong and united behind President Obama’s plan to create jobs. We’re nearly halfway to our $1 Million grassroots goal.

President Obama just threw down the gauntlet.

In case you just missed the President’s speech from the White House Rose Garden this morning, I wanted to make sure you saw this key quote:

“It is wrong that in the United States of America a teacher or a nurse or a construction worker who earns $50,000 should pay higher tax rates than somebody pulling in $50 million.

Anybody who says we can’t change the tax code to correct that, anyone who has signed some pledge to protect every single tax loophole so long as they live, they should be called out.”

After House Republicans turned a blind eye to the nationwide constituent backlash over their votes to end Medicare while protecting tax cuts for billionaires and Big Oil, Congress is set to return to Washington next week.

I’m sorry but these Tea Partyin’ fools in Congress have got to go.

They’re trying to gut the New Deal, attack workers, and end Medicare. But when it comes to tax breaks for their billionaire and Big Oil buddies, it’s hands off.

The Republicans may have Karl Rove’s secret donors and the Tea Party ditto-heads on their side but we’ve got committed grassroots folks like you to help get out the truth.
