Latest update in Wisconsin …Charles Chamberlain, Democracy for America

Here’s the latest update in Wisconsin

We have to win at least three Republican recall elections next week to take back the State Senate and we’re looking good in two districts right now. Districts 18 and 32 are blue districts and we have two great Democratic candidates. We should be able to pick up both of these seats if we keep running strong.

Polls show us leading in District 14, but not by much. We’ve gone all-in here with a great TV ad and with thousands of volunteers on the ground and across the country making calls to voters every day.

We’re behind in Districts 2, 8 and 10, but polls show us catching up fast. We just expanded our canvass in District 10 and now we’re going on offense in District 8 with a powerful new TV ad. But we need your help to get it on the air today.

District 8 is a Republican district and Alberta Darling has been elected here for almost 20 years. This was always going to be a tough fight for us, but Darling’s attacks on middle class families have made her vulnerable. A win here would be a huge upset and we have all the momentum.

DFA has been on the ground for weeks with a massive canvassing program and with volunteers across the country making calls to voters in the district. This new ad is our August surprise and it could be what puts us over the top. Please contribute $8 right now to help us put our new ad on the air.

This is our last chance to expand our ad buy in Wisconsin ahead of the August 9 recall election. http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/1004?akid=1177.1480546.YsKT4D&t=1

Thank you for everything you do.

History in Wisconsin

Today, we made history in Wisconsin.

WI Democrats — supported by over 2,600 DFA volunteers on the ground — submitted over 150% of the signatures needed to demand the recall election of the 5th Republican State Senator: Alberta Darling.

This is unprecedented. In the history of Wisconsin there have been only 4 recall elections ever. Now, in just the last two months, we’ve legally required 5.

Republicans from Madison to Washington D.C. are watching every single step of this fight and we’re not going to let up until we win. With signature gathering continuing for the 3 Republicans left who are eligible for recall, it’s vital we keep covering TV with our hard-hitting real people ad. If we hit $600,000 by Friday night, we’ll be able to stay on the air in target districts through the end of next week. Please contribute now to make it happen.

Our TV ad, which we created with our friends at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, features life-long Republican voter Mike Crump.

“As a Republican my entire life I’m appalled at what Scott Walker and the Republicans did. This hurts my family. It’s about my kids in school.”

Mike is one of the many reasons MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Cenk Uygur have all praised our Wisconsin ads. It’s also why local activists in Wisconsin have asked us to keep it on TV.

Please watch the ad and contribute now.

Thanks to the support we’ve had so far from DFA members nationwide, we’re closer than ever to flipping the WI Senate and stopping Governor Walker’s anti-families agenda.

Working together with our members on the ground, we won’t stop until we win.Thank you for everything you do.

Recall! …from BoldProgressives.org

Today, we’re turning up the heat in Wisconsin — with a powerful new TV ad that captures the magic of the campaign to “Recall the Republicans.”

This ad shows people of all ages coming together to reject the Republican war on the middle class. We loved the energy in Wisconsin while we were filming the ad. We think you’ll love it too!

Our first Wisconsin ad got rave reviews. When we were filming this new ad in Wisconsin last week, people stopped us on the street and said “Thank you!” for giving voice to what so many people are thinking.

We’re working with our friends at Democracy for America on this ad and other tactics that will defeat Republicans and hold them accountable for their war on the middle class.

Click below to check out the new ad — and if you like it, please donate $3 to put it on Wisconsin TV.

Then, please pass this email to others! Thanks for being a bold progressive.

Spoof the Vote

Rainforest Action Network
Vote for your favorite Chevron ad spoof

RAN and Amazon Watch along with the creative geniuses at the Yes Men and Funny or Die have been having an absolute field day these last two weeks derailing Chevron’s new multimillion dollar “We Agree” ad campaign. It’s been grand.

Want in on it?

Chevron’s ads claim “oil companies should support the communities they’re a part of,” while in reality, the oil giant is still refusing to clean the toxic pollution it left in the Ecuadorean Amazon which is poisoning thousands of Indigenous peoples there.

Chevron must think we’re all really stupid. Well, guess what? The joke’s on them. Go to ChevronThinksWereStupid.org and show Chevron just how smart you are…

3 Ways YOU Can Punk Chevron

1 CREATE
Submit your own spoof video or print ad before November 18th. So fun.

2 VOTE
Vote for your favorite ad and share the contest with all of your friends.

3 POST
Print out our fake Chevron ads and post or wheatpaste ‘em up around your town.

The oil giant is doing its best to wrangle “We Agree” back from our merry band of pranksters by tainting the airwaves, world wide web, and all forms of public transport with these BS greenwashed ads. Don’t let ‘em.

Since we don’t have the same kind of dough Chevron does to pay for big billboards, mass transit ads or TV commercials, we’re relying on pure old-fashioned people power to spread this spoof ad campaign far and wide…this means we need all of YOU to punk Chevron too.

Take it from people who know, it makes a difference!

From the Field Updates …a message from Jon Vogel

17 Days Until the Election

I can’t thank you enough — because of you Democrats are surging in these final weeks.

With your help, we reached our goal of $500,000 for rapid response and wired urgent support to our campaigns for television ads for next week and to send even more on-the-ground support.

While shadowy outside GOP front groups continue to barrage our candidates with attack ads, we have planned for the final two weeks, a $40 million wave of television ads for Democratic campaigns nationwide and to continue our $20 million voter contact program.

So far, our efforts are paying off and we are seeing poll numbers move, BUT we can take nothing for granted. The margin of victory on many of these races are small and this is the time to go all in.

For the final two weeks, my strategists and I see about a $300,000 gap for what we need before Tuesday’s two weeks out deadline. Can you help us again with another generous gift? Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

Some other updates from the field:

Another Bad Week for the GOP

GOPMisfires.com

This week, Republican candidates have been consumed by one media firestorm after another:

  • First, there was news that police are investigating one of their most highly-touted candidates for an alleged sexual assault of a potential campaign volunteer.
  • Then, photos surfaced of one of their tea party candidates dressed as a Nazi in World War II reenactments.
  • Lastly, NBC News reported that GOP candidate Allen West has ties to an infamous motorcycle gang and crime syndicate, the Outlaws. The Department of Justice has said the Outlaws are a gang known for making and distributing meth, committing homicide, and prostitution. The Outlaws have a history of denigrating women and considering women property – actually branding women like cattle.

What’s worse? These are just a couple of the Republican extremists running in battleground races. Early voting has already started in many states so we have to act fast to expose the troubling records of the Republicans’ radical “Young Gun” candidates before Tuesday’s TV ad buy deadline.

Check out our GOPMisfires.com website and help us expose these Republicans’ radical records.

Early Voting and Voter Outreach Continues

Your dollars have enabled Democrats in hard-fought races to fight back with ads and launch their state-of-the-art voter contact efforts. But it’s too close for comfort with so many like these running in battleground races.

There is no margin for error and every dollar you give has an impact. We have already been on the air with over $17 million in television ads and it’s working. Our poll numbers in key districts are moving!

Early voting has started and so has our voter outreach programs. Phone banks are 7 days a week here at headquarters and voter outreach programs continue over in 75 districts across the country. It costs $28 to outfit a grassroots canvasser with the proper supplies — consider sponsoring 1 or even 2 canvassers today. Contribute today >>

Together, we can be the difference between victory and defeat for Democrats and keeping these and many other right-wing extremists out of Congress. But we must raise $300,000 before Tuesday’s deadline to wire money to the field to fund next week’s campaign activities.

Just days left: Contribute before Tuesday’s two weeks out deadline so we can raise the $300,000 we need to fund next week’s activities for Democrats in too-close-to-call races.

Onward to Victory,
