If the Senate does NOT receive a message that the House adopted S.Con.Res.11, the adjournment resolution, the Senate will conduct pro forma sessions with no business conducted on the following dates at the following times:

–          Tuesday, March 26^th at 4:30pm

–          Friday, March 29^th at 10:30am

–          Tuesday, April 2^nd at 10:45am and

–          Friday, April 5^th at 3:00pm

The Senate will convene at 2:00pm on Monday, April 8, 2013. 

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 5:00pm with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider the Executive Calendar #14 Patty Shwartz– to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit with up to 30 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled in the usual form on the nominations.

Upon the use or yielding back of time (at approximately 5:30pm), there will be a roll call vote on confirmation of the Shwartz nomination.

10:00:47 A.M.		Today’s prayer was offered by Rev. Oran Warder, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Alexandria, VA.
10:02:19 A.M.		APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL – The Chair announced that, pursuant to the provisions of section 2(a) of H. Res. 122, the Journal of the last day’s proceedings was approved.
10:02:32 A.M.		PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
10:02:48 A.M.		The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permissions granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on March 22, 2013 at 11:28 a.m. stating that that body had agreed to, without amendment, H. Con. Res. 18, H. Con. Res. 19, and passed S. 540. The message further stated appointments to the U.S.-China Interparliamentary Group, the Mexico-U.S. Interparliamentary Group, the Canada-U.S. Interparlaimentary Group, and the British-American Interparliamentary Group.
10:03:40 A.M.		The Speaker announced that the House do now recess. The next meeting is subject to the call of the Chair.
10:59:36 A.M.		The House convened, returning from a recess continuing the legislative day of March 25.
10:59:49 A.M.		The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permissions granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on March 25, 2013 at 10:29 a.m. stating that that body had agreed S. Con. Res. 11. The message further stated appointments to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
