Stryker Corporation (NYSE:SYK)announced today that its orthopaedic division has received notice that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reviewed the voluntary recall of its ShapeMatch Cutting Guides and that it will be classified as a Class I recall. ShapeMatch Cutting Guides are intended to be used as patient specific surgical instrumentation to assist in the positioning of total knee replacement components intraoperatively and in guiding the marking of bone before cutting.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate be in a period of morning business until 5:00pm with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.
At 5:00pm on Monday, April 15^th, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider Executive Calendar #21, Beverly Reid O’Connell– to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California with up to 30 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled between Senators Leahy and Grassley or their designees.
Upon the use or yielding back of time (approximately 5:30pm), there will be a roll call vote on confirmation of the O’Connell nomination.

This morning the President sent Congress his Budget for Fiscal Year 2014. He spoke to the press about his proposal and said that while our economy is poised for progress, we need to get smarter about our priorities as a nation.

President Obama’s budget also replaces the across-the-board spending cuts known as the sequester with smarter reductions — making long-term reforms and eliminating actual waste and programs that are no longer needed.
