Joe Biden just SHREDDED Donald Trump!!

Joe Biden: Not since the Jim Crow era has an American president so misunderstood and misrepresented our values.

Donald Trump rescinded DACA. He waited days to reluctantly denounce white supremacy. And he’s trying to GUT Obamacare.

Trump stands against all the progress we’ve fought for decades to achieve.

We can’t stand idly by while he rolls back all our hard work!

Trump Reverses Plastic Water Bottle Ban in America’s National Parks

He’s reversed the Obama administration’s ban on sale of disposable plastic water bottles at National Parks.
Two dozen national parks had adopted the policy, or were in the process of doing so, including Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Zion National Park and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The ban was part of President Obama’s Green Parks Plan to promote the use of tap water and refillable bottles on federal lands, reduce waste and curb carbon emissions.
To keep visitors hydrated, the Park Service has installed new fresh drinking water stations.
Trump’s decision comes just three weeks after the Senate confirmed David Bernhardt as deputy interior secretary. Bernhardt is a former lobbyist with a law firm that has represented water bottlers in the United States. Bernhardt’s confirmation was opposed by some senators because his work on behalf of corporate interests contradicts Interior Department regulations to promote clean air and water.
Tell President Trump we want our National Parks to be free of single use plastic water bottles. Call Trump now at (202) 456-1111.
Earlier the National Park Service said the ban was based on “the 50 billion plastic water bottles” disposed of by Americans each year and the “approximately 20 billion barrels of oil” required during production generating greenhouse gases. Disposable plastic bottles make up 20% of the Grand Canyon’s waste stream and 30% of the park’s recyclables.
But given the choice, people will choose reusable bottles whenever they can. For example, Zion National Park reports that its sale of reusable bottles increased 78 percent once it banned bottled-water sales.
Plastic waste is choking our planet and creating a global health crisis. In 2015, the world created 448 million tons of plastic — more than twice as much as made in 1998. If current production and waste management trends continue, roughly 12,000 metric tons of plastic waste will be in landfills or in the natural environment by 2050. Approximately 91% of plastic made before 2015 has not been recycled. Our landfills are overflowing with plastic waste, and our recycling centers are overburdened and under-equipped to properly repurpose the plastics being recycled.
As these systems fail, more and more plastic waste ends up in the streets, rivers, beaches, and eventually the oceans, causing untold harm to plant and animal life the world over.
Tell President Trump we want our National Parks to be free of single use plastic water bottles. Call Trump now at (202) 456-1111.

Help win more victories like this! ~ amazonwatch.org

Good news! On Monday, Brazil’s president announced the revocation of a notorious decree that unilaterally opened the vast Renca reserve of more than 17,000 square miles of Amazonian forests to industrial mining.

The reversal came after a tremendous outcry from within Brazil and internationally, as well as a judicial order that arose from a citizen’s lawsuit. In other words, people power works!

Of course, President Temer and his corrupt corporate allies won’t give up their scheme to open the Amazon to drilling, mega-dams, and cattle ranching. But we won’t let down our guard, and we will continue to protect the Amazon and stand with its indigenous guardians!

What to do when the ash stops falling

Tips for Cleaning Your Home and Yard
Falling ash is a problem while fires continue to rage throughout the County. But after the flames are gone and it stops coming down,
cleaning your house, car, boat and yard will be a problem. Because runoff water filled with ash can clog storm drains and pollute our
waterways, you need to take steps to minimize the impact. There are several things you can do:

• Do not allow children to play in ash.
• Determine if ash and debris can be contained and cleaned up without washing material into the storm water system
• Wash ash and debris into landscaped areas wherever practical

• Use a damp mop to clean up ash and debris from small areas
• Dampen accumulated ash and debris and scrape it up or vacuum it up using an adequate filtering vacuum
• Take your car to a car wash or wash it over a vegetated area such as your lawn
• If washing your roof, redirect downspouts to landscaped areas
• Use a high efficiency HEPA-type vacuum to clean your indoor carpets
• Use a damp cloth to pick up dust from smaller surfaces
• Use a damp mop for non-porous surfaces like tile or vinyl floors
In relation to clean up, residents and volunteers should use caution since the clean-up process involves ashes and other particulates:
People with lung or heart problems should avoid clean-up activities and areas where dust or soot are present. Thoroughly wet dusty and
soot area prior to clean-up. This will help to reduce the amount of particulates becoming air-borne.

Wear an appropriate dust mask during clean-up. If exposure to asbestos or other hazardous materials are suspected, do not disturb the area.

Dust masks do not protect against asbestos.
