Our Generation’s Snake Oil, What about my Hazmat Suit?

The light bulb in your child’s bedside lamp that has been replaced with a CFL accidentally falls over, and the bulb breaks…the mercury in that CFL is so toxic that according to the Environmental Protection Agency’s website you should: Leave the room. Kick out the kids and pets. And whatever you do, don’t vacuum. Don’t vacuum? What if it breaks on carpet?…

What role will you play in the next phase of our campaign?

Reform Immigration FOR America

In the last few months we have dominated the news cycle, turned up the heat on House Republicans, and moved House Democrats to file a discharge petition that could force a vote on comprehensive immigration reform. We’ve made it clear that we are not backing down. Our fight is far from over and we need your leadership and support for the next battle in this campaign.

Will you join us on Thursday, April 3 at 7PM EST/4PM PST (8PM EST/5PM PST in Spanish) to discuss the strategy to win and our next steps to end the deportations and force a vote on citizenship?

Join activists across the country, coalition partners, and immigration champion Representative Steven Horsford (D-NV) to discuss the strategic next steps of our campaign to win reform. Our movement has made it this far because of you. You are the heart of this campaign, and together we will get across the finish line.

Join us on Thursday, April 3 at 7pm EST/4PT PST (8PM EST/5PM PST for Spanish) to help us win the fight for comprehensive immigration reform!

With hope,

Thank you, Governor Inslee HB1840

Today is a special day. 3/28/2014

Minutes ago, Governor Jay Inslee signed HB 1840 into law, a bill we fought very, very hard to pass.

It will save lives by ensuring that people currently under restraining orders or subject to similar protective orders will have to temporarily turn in their firearms if the court feels they’re a threat.

Say Thanks!

It’s a very simple — but very powerful — reform that will save lives while preserving the rights of gun owners. This is exactly the kind of commonsense reform that we wanted to make a reality when we created the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility.

Please take a moment to join me, and sign our thank you card for Governor Inslee.

Thank you for your support.

Raise the Minimum Wage: It’s the Right Thing to Do for Hardworking Americans

The White House, Washington

In this week’s address, Vice President Biden discusses the importance of raising the federal minimum wage. It’s good for workers, it’s good for business, and it would help close the gender pay gap, as women make up more than half of the workers who stand to benefit from a raise. And as the Vice President highlights, Congress should boost the federal minimum wage because it’s what a majority of the American people want.Click here to watch this week’s Weekly Address.Watch: Vice President Biden delivers the Weekly Address

While in Vatican City, President Obama had an audience with His Holiness Pope Francis. Here’s what the President said about their meeting, “I would say that the largest bulk of the time was discussing two central concerns of his. One is the issues of the poor, the marginalized, those without opportunity, and growing inequality. … And then we spent a lot of time talking about the challenges of conflict and how elusive peace is around the world.”
