Exclusive: First look at our report … Jim Messina, BarackObama.com

We’re filing this campaign‘s first financial report with the Federal Election Commission on Friday.

You own this campaign, so you deserve to get this news first.

And thanks to you and other supporters all over the country, there’s a lot of good news to share.

I’m not going to steal my own thunder here in the email — you’ve got to watch the video to get the news about what we’ve raised, how we’re spending it, and what’s next:

The Washington chatter around the report we’re releasing has focused on one number: the sum total we’ve raised.

But other numbers that the pundits often ignore — like how many field offices we and the DNC have open, how many one-on-one conversations we’ve had with potential supporters, and how many people have already decided to own a piece of this campaign — tell the real story of our campaign.

All those numbers are in the video, and they’re the ones you should be proud of today. Watch it now …above

One more thing: It’s a fact that our opponents won’t have hundreds of thousands of people giving whatever they can afford — so they’ll be relying heavily on money from two sources to fund an unprecedented barrage:

1. Washington lobbyists and special interests whose explicit aim is to influence the federal government in any way they can.

2. Outside groups that don’t have to disclose a word about what they’ve raised or who they’ve raised it from, like one of Karl Rove’s political organizations. His groups have set an astounding $120 million fundraising goal in their campaign to tear down President Obama.

The threat to our success from these determined groups — acting solely in their own interest, not the public interest — is real, and it’s growing. And it’s going to take serious commitment and vigilance from all of us to withstand their attacks while still building the grassroots campaign we’ll need to win.

Thanks to you, we’re off to a solid start. But this is just the beginning.

So now, back to work.

Thanks,

Messina

new polling … Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

Hey, we’ve got some new polling that I wanted to show you:
Democrats are already competitive in two GOP-held seats, in UT and NV.
Democratic incumbents in OH and PA (Sherrod Brown and Bob Casey) look strong

GOP efforts to sabotage the economy for political gain are not paying off – yet. But Republicans are reading the same polls and writing big checks. Karl Rove’s group just made a $20 million ad buy in crucial swing states (including Nevada). We have no margin for error in 2012. If they flip just 4 Democratic seats, we lose the Senate.

Our FEC deadline 48 hours from now will help determine which states we can compete in, and which we must let go. We want to compete everywhere we’ve got a shot at victory. Your gift now can help make that happen. If we fall short, we’ll leave states on the table.

If everyone kicks in $5 we’ll have the $201,000 we need in the bank before midnight Thursday.

Thanks,

Jason Rosenbaum

It’s on … says Robby Mook

News just broke that Crossroads, one of Karl Rove’s shadowy outside groups, is purchasing millions in advertising attacking President Obama this summer.

There’s no doubt: the fight for 2012 is on.

This all comes as we are within days of the critical midyear Federal Election Commission (FEC) fundraising reporting deadline. Republicans and Democrats are in a virtual dead heat for year-to-date totals, and if we are going to keep pace with this outside money we need to take a strong lead.

That means we need every committed Democrat to contribute something before June 30th. A gift of just $3 or more could go a long way to us having a strong showing. Will you join the fight today?

Contribute $3 or more before the mid-year FEC deadline on June 30th and House Democrats will triple match your gift.

In just four days, the amount of money we raise in the mid-year will be used by the media and talking heads as a measure of our chances of success in 2012.

House Democrats are so committed to June 30th — they are now matching every dollar you give with two of their own. That makes each gift worth triple the amount. It’s make or break time. Please give today before Thursday’s deadline.

 Thanks,

 Robby Mook

a message from Sen.Patty Murray -dogged

Republicans don’t have to destroy Medicare. Republicans are choosing to destroy Medicare because preserving tax breaks for oil corporations and billionaires is a bigger priority to them.

This is why we fight. We can’t allow Republicans – and their skewed priorities – to control the Senate, and they will if they gain just four seats. What you do right now truly matters!

The end of this month marks a critical FEC deadline. If we don’t raise $710,342 by June 30, we won’t have the resources to hold the Senate and stop their extreme agenda – such as ending Medicare – from becoming law. We CAN win, but it won’t happen without an army of grassroots supporters – including you.

Please give an immediate $5 or more to the DSCC. Every dollar you give will help Democrats fight – and will help keep Republicans out of power in the Senate. I’m counting on you to help stop them!

When I stepped up to lead the fight to keep our Senate majority, I told my Democratic colleagues that I would be all in, but I needed them to be all in, too. And they are. But that’s not enough. I need each and every grassroots Democrat to step up, too.

We’ve seen the extremes Republicans are willing to go to – their dogged pursuit of ending Medicare is just one example. And they’ll be attacking our candidates even harder than they’re attacking our social safety net. Karl Rove’s American Crossroads and Citizens United’s own PAC are already gearing up.

We see what’s coming. We know the fierce fight that lies ahead. And we know exactly what we need to do to win it. We can’t wait. The Republicans sure aren’t.

We must raise $710,342 by June 30 if we’re going to keep Republicans out of power. Please give $5 or more right now. Every dollar you give will help Democrats fight – and will help keep Republicans out of power. We need your help!

The stakes are higher than a simple Senate majority. This election will determine the path our nation takes. Are we the type of nation that protects the least among us? Or are we the type of nation that allows the young, old, sick and needy to fend for themselves while oil corporations and billionaires reap all the rewards?

This is the time to stand up for what we – as Democrats – believe in. Thank you for joining the fight.

Sincerely,

Sen. Patty Murra

Republicans have crossed a line and there’s no turning back.

Six Wisconsin Republicans are set to face recall elections this July for their attacks on unions and middle class families.

Karl Rove, the Koch brothers and other big money corporate interests are going to pour money into the state to make sure that their friends stay in office so they can keep fighting their war on working families.

That’s why we’re building a people-powered campaign to stop them — putting staff on the ground to organize volunteers, canvass door-to-door, make phone calls, and run radio and TV ads featuring real Wisconsinites.

We’re putting together a campaign fueled by volunteers because people-power is the only thing that can beat big corporate money — it’s the only thing that ever has. But we can’t afford to wait until the summer to start building our campaign. We need to plan our campaign right now so we can hit the ground running from day one. We can’t do it without you.

The Republican war on working families is happening across the country, not just Wisconsin. Right-wing Republicans have introduced copycat legislation that would smash unions and middle class families in Ohio, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey and many, many more.

We’re organizing volunteers everywhere. Wisconsin isn’t just the biggest fight, it’s also just the beginning. We can send a clear message to Republicans not just in Wisconsin, but in every state considering this radical anti-working family legislation — attack the middle class and lose your seat.

Republicans have crossed a line and there’s no turning back. Please contribute today and let’s win this fight together.
