Just in the last few months we’ve seen countless attempts to restrict women’s reproductive health care. Opponents have tacked anti-abortion provisions onto unrelated bills and passed restrictions in special secret, last-minute sessions. They’ve mocked pro-choice protesters by handing them cookies. And they continue to tell women we don’t know what’s best when it comes to our own reproductive health care. I’ve had enough. Have you?
This August, we’re declaring 31 Days of Unity. It’s a time to come together, join our voices, and tell lawmakers we will not stand for more attacks on our reproductive rights.
This year, despite all the attacks, we’ve seen support for women’s health care grow. There have been inspirational filibusters, rallies across the nation, and unprecedented activism — proving that when our community stands together, we have the power to enact change. Will you add your voice?
Every day this August, reproductive rights, health, and justice groups across the nation are uniting to call on lawmakers to stop the attacks on equal access to safe, legal, affordable reproductive health care for all women. Together, we know we can make our voices loud enough to be heard. Raise your voice! Tell lawmakers to end the attacks on reproductive health care.
Summer may be coming to an end, but unless we speak up, attacks on reproductive health care will continue. Demand that your representatives in Congress and in the states defend women’s reproductive health care.

Tell your Senators Peace Corps Volunteers deserve equal access to health care coverage.
Since 1961, Peace Corps Volunteers have provided an invaluable service to the U.S. and to the countries with which we partner to foster peace and development. Yet when it comes to their own health and well-being, female volunteers are singled out — and some are denied health care coverage they vitally need.
Currently, Peace Corps Volunteers are denied coverage for abortion — even when the pregnancy threatens her life, or if she is a survivor of rape or incest. But recently, the Senate Appropriations Committee took an important first step in addressing the fact that Peace Corps Volunteers do not get the same coverage for their reproductive health as employees of the Peace Corps itself and others who get their health insurance through the federal government. We need your help to make sure this inequity ends. Tell your Senators Peace Corps Volunteers deserve equal access to health care coverage.
More than 60 percent of the more than 8,000 Peace Corps Volunteers are women. But under the current policy, these women may have to forgo life-saving medical treatment — or endure an unwanted pregnancy resulting from a sexual assault. At the same time, other women who receive health care coverage through the federal government do get abortion coverage in these cases. This is unfair.
We need you to make sure your Senators are committed to changing this policy. Tell your Senators to end this inequity and ensure Peace Corps Volunteers get the coverage they need.

And yet extreme policies currently exist that deny certain women coverage for abortion services in these difficult and, sometimes, life-threatening situations. It’s time to end the unconscionable ban on abortion coverage for Peace Corps volunteers in the cases of rape, incest and life endangerment to the woman. And though other women who receive health care coverage through the federal government have coverage of abortion in cases of rape, incest, and to protect the life of the woman, Peace Corps volunteers are prohibited from receiving the same coverage as federal employees. The Peace Corps Equity Act will end this extreme policy by expanding access to reproductive health care in cases of rape, incest and life endangerment.
