Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand …Support David Weprin -9th District NYC

I have an important favor to ask of you. My friend David Weprin is running in the special election for the 9th Congressional District in NYC, and he needs your help. With the election just days away, he is being attacked from outside groups supporting his Tea Party opponent, Bob Turner.

David currently has a new television ad on the air, but to keep it up, and win the race, he needs our help. Please click here to rush a contribution to David ASAP and help him stay up on the air – even as little as $5 can make a big difference.      http://www.dccc.org/page/m/1d63c97f/1b9dd8ab/43a43aa9/4e0ced6c/1378293921/VEsH/

David has been a tireless advocate for seniors and the middle class. His opponent, however, would slash the federal budget and the Medicare and Social Security benefits our seniors have earned and depend on. In fact, when The New York Times endorsed David they said, “If Mr. Turner gets his way, it would be impossible to spare anybody who relies on the government for benefits or to keep the air clean or their food safe.”

This election is too important to let the Tea Party and outside shadow groups steal the race. We have the better candidate who is right on the issues. Now we just need to help him get the word out. Please rush a contribution of $5 or more to David today.      http://www.dccc.org/page/m/1d63c97f/1b9dd8ab/43a43aa9/4e0ced6c/1378293921/VEsH/

Thank you for your help.

Final push for NY-09 …Rep. Joe Crowley

House Republicans are investing heavily in an upcoming special election in New York in the hopes of electing another radical right-wing member to their caucus. We cannot afford to let this happen.

Republicans are trying to wrest NY-09 away from Democrats with smears and misleading attacks. Democratic candidate David Weprin is spreading his message that everyday Americans, families and seniors, not millionaires and Big Oil, should come first.

Meanwhile, his opponent is a radical right-winger ready to fight alongside John Boehner and the tea party. He has promised to push for drastic budget cuts and is even on record as rejecting the Republican’s budget and plan to end Medicare because it did not go far enough.

The election is just one week from today. We must immediately raise $25,000 in rapid response funds to help David fight Republican attacks in these final days.

David’s opponent may have his deep-pocketed right-wing supporters to help him — and national Republicans ready to swoop in — during the final push before the election, but we are depending on grassroots supporters like you.

Your generous donation will help David with get out the vote efforts and to spread his message about the need to protect Medicare and Social Security. Even just a small gift today could go a long way.

Can you chip in today        www.dccc.org

Thank you,

Congressman Joe Crowley
DCCC National Finance Chairy to help give David critical resources in the final days before the special election?

Do you have a dream for America? ..Kaili Lambe, Democracy for America.

With Congress bowing to the wishes of their corporate donors and conservative legislatures in dozens of states attacking working families, things can seem pretty bleak.

But in communities across the country, progressive activists are being inspired by the American Dream Movement — the fight to rebuild the middle class. We’re working together and fighting to take back our country.

On October 3-5 progressive activists will converge on Washington DC to share and learn innovative movement-building strategies at the Take Back the Dream Conference.

Democracy for America and Rebuild the Dream have teamed up to offer scholarships to thirty awesome activists who might not otherwise be able to attend the conference. Click here to apply right now.

The American Dream Movement is built by you and this conference will be a unique opportunity to share your progressive vision for the country and bring what you learn home to inspire others in your community.

There has never been a more important time for us to unite and share ideas to move our country forward.

Can you bring your energy and experience to the Conference? It’s easy to apply — just three quick steps.

Know someone who would make an outstanding American Dream Scholar? Forward this email and ask them to apply.

Working together, we’re unstoppable. Thank you for everything you do.

DFA working to protect Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid

On Friday, we asked DFA members to vote on which Republican to target next with our new TV ad exposing the Republican attacks on Medicare, Social Security and education.

It was close, but the winner was clear: Republican Eric Cantor.

Now, we’ll hit him hard across his Virginia district before he heads back to Washington after Labor Day. You told us what to do. Please help make it possible by contributing $5 to get the ad on the air.

As of this morning, we’ve raised $30,000 for in-districts ads, but — to have a lasting impact and send a strong message — we need your help to raise at least $50,000 by Monday morning.

We’re holding Republicans accountable and hitting them where it hurts most — back home in their congressional district.

Please contribute now to make it happen.

Thank you for everything you do.
