DFA … Huge new poll from Wisconsin – Charles Chamberlain, Democracy for America

This is huge — A new poll from Wisconsin shows Democrat Fred Clark beating Republican Sen. Luther Olsen for the first time since the campaign began.

This is a must-win district for progressives. We need to win at least three of the six Republican recall races to take back the Senate and end the Republican war on working families in Wisconsin.

We’re already on the air with a new TV ad showing how Olsen’s votes to give huge tax breaks to millionaires and shut down small town schools has hurt communities across the state

We have never been closer to winning these recall elections and finally ending the Republican war on middle class Wisconsin families than we are right now.

That’s why national media outlets — CNN, The Atlantic, Talking Points Memo — have picked up our new ad taking on Olsen for his vote to destroy unions and middle class families. We were the first ones on the air, on the ground and on the phones, but Karl Rove and the Koch brothers are scrambling to catch up and we need to be ready for when they strike back.

Thank you for everything you do.

New Wisconsin TV Ad …Charles Chamberlain, Democracy for America

Which would you vote for — tax breaks for millionaires or essential funding for schools?

Luther Olsen voted for the millionaires and now he’s one of six Wisconsin Republicans being recalled for his attacks on working families.

We just finished a new TV ad showing how Olsen’s votes to cut school funding and support tax breaks for the rich has devastated communities across Wisconsin. Take a look and please contribute $10 to keep it on the air.

Last night, the first recall election was a big win for progressives. Republicans tried recalling Democratic State Senator Dave Hansen for standing up to their radical right-wing agenda — and he crushed their Tea Party candidate by a two-to-one margin.

That’s a win for the defense, but we need to recall at least three Republicans next month to take back the State Senate and end the right-wing war on working families. Here’s what we’re doing to win:

Right now, DFA Wisconsin Field Director Nick Passanante is on the ground leading our largest field program ever. So far, we’ve knocked on 20,262 doors in Republican State Senate Districts 8, 10 and 32.

Thousands of DFA and PCCC volunteers nationwide have teamed up to make over 70,000 calls to Wisconsin voters as part of our Call Out The Vote program.

Now, we’re expanding our campaign into District 14 with our first television ad.

Our TV ads earlier this year got massive media attention for featuring real Wisconsinites. We don’t make cookie-cutter ads — we feature real people hurt by Scott Walker and his right-wing Republican war on working families.

Please contribute $10 now to keep our new TV ad on the air.   http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/935?akid=1100.1480546.d-DVKr&t=3

We’re not taking anything for granted. We’re going to keep hitting Republicans for their attacks on middle class Wisconsin families — on the air, on the ground and on the phone — until we win.

Thank you for everything you do.

Democrat Sandy Pasch has pulled ahead of Republican Alberta Darling in Wisconsin State Senate District 8

Democrat Sandy Pasch has pulled ahead of Republican Alberta Darling in Wisconsin State Senate District 8, closing a nine-point gap since entering the race, according to a new poll released Friday.

This is huge news — District 8 is one of the toughest districts for Democrats in the WI recall elections.

But we can’t stop now. Democrats need a win here to take back the State Senate and Pasch is up just 47-46 according to the Mellman Group poll with only three weeks left before the August 9 recall. Can you join thousands of DFA and PCCC volunteers across the country and make calls to Wisconsin voters this Thursday?

Yes! I can make calls to Wisconsin voters this Thursday!   http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/919?akid=1087.1480546.uTXgrd&t=1

Yes! I can make calls to Wisconsin voters this weekend!  http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/919?akid=1087.1480546.uTXgrd&t=2

Sorry, I can’t make calls, but I’ll contribute $5 to fuel the call campaign.   http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/920?akid=1087.1480546.uTXgrd&t=3

These calls are important. Republicans have big corporate interests propping them up, ready to spend millions of dollars on sleazy attack ads. But talking directly to voters on the phone cuts through the corporate spin by putting real people in touch with voters.

These calls are also easy to make. Sign up today and a DFA staff member will be in touch with you to see if you have any questions about the calls. There’s also a quick conference call before your shift starts to give you an update on the campaign, so you have plenty of chances to ask any questions you might have.

So, can you join us and help Call Out The Vote?

Yes! I can make calls to Wisconsin voters!   http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/919?akid=1087.1480546.uTXgrd&t=4

We’re going to win these recalls with people power like this. Please join us today.

Thanks for all that you do.

a message from … Charles Chamberlain, Democracy for America

Exactly five weeks from today, Wisconsin voters will finally have a chance to stop Scott Walker and the Republican war on working families dead in its tracks.

All six Republican Senators are up for recall and we must replace at least three of them with progressive Democrats to flip control of the Wisconsin Senate.

We can win, but it’s up to each of us to make it happen. Will you sign up to make phone calls from your home this week to voters in Wisconsin?

Yes, I can call this week!

Making calls is easy. All you need is a phone and your computer.

Your shift starts with a short campaign conference call to make sure you have the most up-to-date news happening on the ground. And, of course, any questions you have get answered. Then it’s on to making calls.

Working together, we will win these elections and get out the vote — can you help by signing up for a two-hour phone shift?

Yes, sign me up to make calls this week!
Sorry, I can’t call right now but I’ll contribute $5 fund the campaign to win.

Thank you for working to win in Wisconsin.

Paul Ryan gets our message ! boldprogressives.org

We made Rep. Paul Ryan feel big pressure this week in Wisconsin.

Along with his challenger, Rob Zerban, we delivered 65,000 signatures to Ryan’s local office — opposing his plan to end Medicare.

Local and national media covered our activism! The local newspaper headline blared, “Zerban presents petition on Medicare to Ryan’s office.”

Many candidates and political committees promise to do stuff in the future. We’re committed to doing effective work now.

We work with leaders in Congress and on the campaign trail who are committed to being bold progressives and partnering with the grassroots to move the ball forward on issues we care about.

That’s why we partnered with Sen. Al Franken to re-ignite public pressure for Elizabeth Warren — and partnered with other bold leaders on the public option and Wall Street reform.

Now, we’re showing how candidates can use their campaigns to pressure Republicans back home on Medicare — in a way that impacts the current debate.

Watch video from this week’s event. Then, add your name to Rob’s letter so he can keep doing events holding Paul Ryan accountable.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
