Hey Native Grl, Did you NOT listen to the first minute of the first video? Gohmert is explaining that under Democrat policies, the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. He’s not trying to cut welfare, he’s trying to help the poor get off of welfare and on to productive lives. Dems want to poor to stay poor because in the political world they are like Pavlov’s dogs who salivate at the word entitlement, and the liberals use that word to entice the poor to vote Democrat, and thus vote for policies to keep them poor.

Ann, I get that we view and take Louie Ghomert’s comments differently, but I would say the man and anyone like him engage in the Spin while on the floor of Congress and or on camera lest we talk about the lies and just to let you know … your comment is offensive, no one is like “Pavlov’s dogs who salivate at the word entitlement” Shame on you! I have to admit that generalization are and will always be a pet peeve of mine, lest we are educated enough to know what the reference is to and that pisses me off. There has always been a contract with America and the fact is more white people use welfare … and just so you know this video is just the tip of his offensive iceberg as I see this man as a racist, against single home’s and single mom’s who, as he has said, “create thugs” against women who have babies without a man. I am against the Republican “Family Values” platform which is big Government at its worse … If you listen to him he would love to go back to the 60’s ? oh, I ask you to remember your history, even Clinton says he made a big mistake re: Welfare Reform …getting people off of welfare doesn’t mean giving more tax breaks to the 1-2% and cutting slashing burning social service programs it is creating a whole new low-income of whites blacks brown people who used to make a good income now restless and sitting on the curb with no opportunities. I think that $24Billion GoP shutdown could have been spent in better ways …lest we talk about all the hearings Rs in Congress have held, making taxpayers ante up. I think the shift in who makes what and how much changed when the House of Bush decided NOT to fix the financial issues we had knowing he just went through a surplus engaged in 2Wars and gave 2Taxbreaks to his wealthy friends while ignoring the mid-class, Students,Housing,POC,lowincome,Medicare/caid,Seniors and welfare folks. Gohmert’s comment is his … I did not make it up and every time he votes on the floor of Congress his real self is known and it isn’t for Women, certainly not for single mom’s .. We disagree. I like that people even read the things I post … thanks
