My Senate race here in Nevada has been called the most important and one of the nastiest in the country, but this is a new low.
One of my opponent’s long-time top aides is questioning my Mexican heritage and my integrity:
I want to make two things very clear: When Donald Trump attacks Mexicans, he’s talking about my family. And when my opponent’s staffers attack my heritage, they’re not only disrespecting me, but all Latino Americans.
If elected, I would be the first Latina ever to serve in the U.S. Senate, but I am not running to make history. I am running because this is what politics in Washington looks like right now, and it’s why Democrats need to take back the Senate.
But Nate Silver says our race is the closest in the country, and right-wing groups have already spent and reserved over $30 million in ads to defeat us and keep their grip on the Senate. I’m counting on grassroots supporters like you giving now to help me win in Nevada and take back the Senate.
