The Lost City
Two Million Undocumented Immigrants Have Been Deported Since 2009
Last month, President Obama called for a review of deportation policy. To get a sense of how enormous the number of deportations have been under this administration, check out this infographic from our colleagues at the Center for American Progress:

Check out a few other resources on deportations as well:
- Jeb Bush believes that undocumented immigrants cross the border out of “act of love.”
- Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley says Baltimore will stop automatically detaining immigrants.
- A moving story of a veteran, father, and small business owner who was arrested by armed immigration officials in his own home and then deported.
- Speaker John Boehner, after dragging his feet, is apparently “hell bent” on passing immigration reform this year.
BOTTOM LINE: With each passing day, failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship costs more and more in economic benefits for the country and in families torn apart.
TAKE ACTION: Protect Workers and Children from Pesticides
The two million farm workers who labor to put food on our tables are about to get new protections against pesticides. By taking action now, you can help ensure that these protections are strong enough to do the job.
The protections are proposed by the EPA in improvements to the Agricultural Worker Protection Standard, which hasn’t been upgraded since it was passed in 1992. However, the standard can be improved.
The proposed rule is in response to a 2011 petition from Earth justice and our partners on behalf of several farm worker and public advocacy organizations requesting improved protections from pesticide exposure. Exposure to pesticides and their residues causes farm workers to suffer more chemical-related injuries and illnesses than any other workforce nationwide.
Help improve these proposed standards by expressing your concerns—today—to the EPA.
Sincerely,
Andrea Delgado
