Quote of the Day …
“They know they’re going to face some obstacles along the way, sometimes some discouragement, because all too often the world underestimates young men like these. They know that their stories and their success can also help change the narrative.”
Quote of the Day …

A simple request to meet a big challenge: stop oil drilling in the Amazon
Amazon Watch news@amazonwatch.org … Subscribe !
Last week, we asked our global network to join us in urging China not to drill in the Amazon. Thousands of you responded. Thank you!
Now we need your support to stand up to Chinese state-owned oil company Andes Petroleum, which is targeting the rainforest home of the Sápara and the Kichwa of Sarayaku. China is also considering financing drilling in Yasuni-ITT, one of the most biodiverse places on the planet and the home of Ecuador’s last communities living in voluntary isolation.
When you become a monthly sustainer, you become a partner with us and with indigenous communities on the front lines while they defend their homes and protect the rainforest that helps stabilize our global climate.
Supporting indigenous peoples’ rights and their efforts to protect their territories is the most effective way to protect the rainforest for future generations.
Becoming a Monthly Sustainer is easy and has many other benefits:
- Automatic donation from your credit card or Paypal account.
- The knowledge that your donation is put to work immediately.
- Complete statements provided for tax purposes.
- Regular emails on our progress.
- The ability to change or suspend your donation at any time.
