A major announcement …

Ann Kuster and 95 Dems -- Net Neutrality protectors

Hi! This is Ann McLane Kuster, Democratic candidate for Congress in New Hampshire. I have two exciting pieces of news to report.

First, RealClearPolitics just upgraded our race from “toss up” to “leans Democrat” — thanks to the strong people-powered campaign we’re running, in which so many PCCC members have played a role.

Second, I’m proud to announce that 95 Democratic candidates are uniting to protect the biggest driver of people power in our democracy: the Internet. We’re promising to protect Net Neutrality — the First Amendment of the Internet — from recent attacks by big corporations.

The media are already reporting on this news today. Can you show everyone that Internet freedom is important to voters by being a “citizen signer” of our joint Net Neutrality statement? Click here to see it and sign.

(Please also donate to help pro-Net Neutrality candidates win next week. Chip in $3 here.)

Let me tell you how protecting Net Neutrality affects voters and jobs here in New Hampshire.

Phone and cable companies want to put tollbooths on the Internet — forcing businesses, organizations, and individuals to pay extra for their websites to open quickly on people’s computers.

Big corporations like Exxon Mobil could afford this cost. But small businesses, economic innovators, independent media, and grassroots groups could not. Losing Net Neutrality would stifle free speech, innovation, and jobs.

Especially in the “Live Free or Die” state, hurting Internet freedom by putting new tollbooths on the Internet is a non-starter. And across the nation, Democratic candidates agree.

Please show everyone that voters support pro-Net Neutrality candidates by being a “citizen signer” of our joint statement? Click here to see it and sign.

(And please donate $3 to help pro-Net Neutrality candidates win.)

Thanks so much — especially to the thousands of PCCC members who have used the Internet to make small-dollar donations to my campaign and make calls reminding people to vote.

Together, we’ll win next Tuesday, and fight together in the future.

Ann McLane Kuster

We Can’t Sit This One Out

The Stakes Are High
Donate today to help us protect essential priorities for women and their families.

As the 2010 elections grow near, many of our most urgent issues may hang in the balance.

The midterm elections will make a profound difference on whether women and families will get the help they need to make ends meet in these difficult times. Women’s votes matter more now than ever. That’s why we can’t afford for women to sit this election out.

Check out our fact sheets on Why Women Should Vote, and help us continue to spread the word.

Your donation enables us to reach out to women across the country and let them know the importance of making their voices heard.

And when Congress returns in November, we’ll be working hard to ensure women’s health and well-being on a host of critical issues, including fair pay, child care, health insurance coverage, unemployment insurance and other important supports for struggling families.

We urgently need your help. The stakes are high and we don’t have a moment to lose. Please consider a generous donation today to support our efforts to inform women about the importance of their vote and all of our issues that are at stake.

Join us as we fight to protect essential priorities for women and their families — especially for those who are most vulnerable.

Thank you for your support, and for all you do on behalf of women and their families.

Sincerely,

10 Days Until the Election!New polls are showing the tide turning in districts across the country. Democrats are digging in and building momentum in dozens of hard-fought races.

The ground game is ours to win or lose in the final 10 days of this campaign. Widespread reports of early Democratic voter turnout in states like Ohio show Democratic efforts are paying off, but this is red zone and the DCCC needs your help to pull it off. Your immediate contribution can make the critical difference in close races and help mobilize Democratic voters.

They need $1 million in hand by Tuesday’s deadline to wire urgent money to the field for voter turnout. Turnout is key, and the best part: All gifts today will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

Contribute $5, $10 or more to our Rapid Response Fund before the Tuesday, October 26th deadline to wire funds in our final push to Get-Out-the-Vote before Election Day.

It will all come down to the ground game. We have over 700 paid field staff in races nationwide but volunteers will be key to our success. It’s not too late to get involved by volunteering on a race in your area.

Thank you for standing together and fighting for strong courageous Democrats in Congress.

P.S. You don’t want to wake up on November 3rd wondering what more you could have done to defend our strong Democratic Majority and support our courageous candidates. Contribute to our Rapid Response Fund before Tuesday’s deadline.

What does waffling look like? VIDEO …a message from Rep.Barney Frank

Barney Frank for Congress 2010

My opponent, who is now raising tens of thousands of dollars a day through his appearances on right-wing radio and television, and thanks to his endorsement by Sarah Palin, has offered a textbook case of waffling.  The subject is Roe v. Wade.

For those who wish to see waffling in its barest form, you can watch the four-minute video here.  For those who prefer straight talk on this issue, please consider contributing to my campaign.

Here is a partial transcript of the back-and-forth between my opponent, Sean Bielat, and the editorial board of the Gatehouse newspapers:

BIELAT: “Roe v. Wade has been in effect since before I was born so it’s a moot point.”

EDITOR: “So do you choose to answer the question.”

BIELAT:  “I think I did answer.”

EDITOR: “But we’re looking for your personal view.  Or do you pass?

BIELAT:  [SILENCE]

See the entire video for more dodging and squirming.  In terms of waffling, it is a textbook case.

Because of my opponent’s stand on this issue, he has won the endorsement of an anti-choice organization, which is spending considerable money this election in an effort to defeat me.

If you would like someone in Congress who speaks frankly about this and many other issues, I would be grateful for your generous contribution to my campaign.

Barney Frank
