Demand Justice for Elijah McClain

Elijah McClain, a 23-year-old Black man in Aurora, Colorado, was murdered at the hands of police almost a year ago and still no justice.

On August 24, 2019, three white police officers stopped Elijah while he was walking home from a convenience store — after a 911 caller reportedly described Elijah as a “suspicious person.” The details that led to Elijah’s death are horrific. The officers can be heard on bodycam video threatening to bring their dog to bite Elijah and even accusing Elijah of provoking arrest. Minutes later, officers then put Elijah in a deadly chokehold, causing him to go unconscious. Paramedics rushed to the scene only for Elijah to later suffer from a heart attack; he was declared brain dead three days later.

That’s why we must call on AG Phil Weiser to stand up for what is right and file criminal charges against the officers who murdered Elijah McClain. He has the power to ensure these officers are not free to roam the streets while Elijah’s family is forced to mourn the loss of their loved one.

Elijah Mcclain should still be alive today. Sign the petition to demand AG Phil Weiser charge the officers who murdered Elijah.

Below is the letter we will send to Attorney General Phil Weiser:

Here is the Petition:

Dear Attorney General Phil Weiser,

We are looking at you to ensure justice for Elijah McClain and his family who have been forced to endure the most painful loss of this young Black man who died at the hands of police violence and brutality. We won’t sit by and watch any more of our people die as a result of unnecessary harm that is inflicted by the police — the officers who murdered Elijah must be held accountable NOW. And that starts with their immediate arrest and criminal charges filed against them.

1997 – Scientists in London said DNA from a Neanderthal skeleton supported a theory that all humanity descended from an “African Eve” 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

July 10, 1997: DNA Test of Neanderthal Skeleton Supports Man Originated in Africa

Digging Deeper

By Major Dan
Neanderthal man is the stereotypical cave man of cultural reference, powerfully built and immensely strong, with males average height about 5’6” and females about 5’1”. Their brains were actually larger than modern human brains, 1600 cc versus 1400 cc. The theory of human evolution has modern man and Neanderthal both evolving from a common ancestor 200,000 or so years ago in Africa, with Neanderthal leaving Africa to evolve in Europe and Asia while the modern human branch stayed in Africa, evolving toward modern humans.

Once the modern branch of humans (Cro Magnon) left Africa (perhaps 60,000 years ago) and migrated to Europe and Asia, there was interaction between Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal that resulted in cross breeding. This cross breeding leaves modern European and Asian races with a higher percentage of Neanderthal DNA than modern Africans. Modern non-African humans demonstrate about 20% Neanderthal gene pool, with about 2% of the individual average genome being Neanderthal.

All this information indicates that from the study of mitochondrial DNA (that passed on through each mother) scientists now (most of them) believe that all humans can be traced back to a common ancestor (Homo heidelbergensis) in Africa perhaps 200,000 years ago, a virtual real life “Eve.”

Of course, some people object to this theory on religious grounds and believe God created Man without going through all this evolutionary business. What do you believe? Did dinosaurs live tens of millions of years ago, or did early man coexist with dinosaurs only a few thousand years ago? Tell us what you think about all this information.

In Memory of Renisha McBride …

EqualityToday,  … a guest post

A Message from Britain on the Death of Renisha McBride

I am a middle-aged White British man who lives in Harlow, a town approximately 22 miles Northeast of the centre of London. I am a writer (so far without any commercial success).

I read about the tragic case of Renisha McBride last Friday in a British newspaper called The Guardian, and wrote the following verses in response. Anyone who feels that my composition may be useful is free to use it in any form they see fit. I ask only that my authorship is acknowledged.

The following verses are also attached to this email in the form of a Word document, to facilitate their use.

I hope that justice can be served in this case, those responsible punished, and the law changed.

Regards and Best Wishes

== The Dear Folk of Dearborn Heights

There’s a suburb of Detroit City Goes by the name of Dearborn Heights Where householders stand their ground Where they know their Goddamn rights

Their idea of assistance Is a bullet in your head If you’re young and Black and female They’ll probably shoot you dead

The highway of compassion It bypasses Dearborn Heights On blistering August days And cold November nights

Renisha McBride crashed her car At the tender age of nineteen Early one Saturday morning On streets unfriendly and mean

She knocked on his door and asked him for help He picked up his gun and he fired As from his house she turned away And on his front porch she expired

“The local police aren’t racist!” I imagine the outraged cries How then do we explain Their filthy racist lies?

Renisha she was dumped That was what they said On the porch of an innocent man She was already dead

The Prosecutor vetoed arrest In Wayne County it wasn’t a crime To shoot in the back of her head A woman, unarmed, in her prime

Because killing Blacks is legal It’s written in Michigan law They’re free to gun you down If you knock upon their door

Black folk can expect no sympathy In good ol’ Dearborn Heights Where householders stand their ground Where they know their Goddamn rights ■ Paul T Kegan 10 November 2013
