When you give now, every $ will be matched by Democratic Senators


Republicans steamrolled into the House with empty promises of economic renewal. But instead they’ve chosen Big Oil over Medicare, health care companies over women’s rights, the rich over the middle class.
                                
                                We’ve been able to stop them with our Democratic majority in the Senate. But if they capture just four of the 23 Democratic seats up for grabs in 2012, anything they dream up will sail through Congress while no progressive ideas survive.
                                
                                Two years ago, we averted that nightmare scenario. We can do it again now, but only if Democrats pull together and rise up to make a difference. Please give whatever you can to the DSCC today and help them raise $683,000 by their crucial June 30 end-of-quarter deadline. Democratic senators will match every dollar you give, because falling short of this goal could mean the Senate slips from our grasp.
 

 
The GOP is playing politics with serious issues. One day they’re threatening to shut down the government, putting people out of work and delaying benefits seniors and veterans depend upon. The next, they’re willing to let the economy go into default while spending billions of tax dollars on Big Oil subsidies.
                                
                                As they perform these political stunts, Republicans seem to have no problem turning a blind eye to the struggles of hardworking Americans, pressing forward with a reckless budget that so clearly hurts working families who struggle to survive from paycheck to paycheck.
                                
                                So how can they possibly win? The GOP is a master of the old bait and switch. They did it in 2010, and they’ll surely try it in 2012. So it’s up to us to make sure they don’t get away with it.
                                
Give now to the DSCC so we can fight for our Democratic majority in the Senate. Republicans will have 23 opportunities to take away four of our seats next year, so we’ve got to start working now to protect our senators who are up for re-election and support our great Democratic challengers.

Republicans don’t have to destroy Medicare. Republicans are choosing to destroy Medicare because preserving tax breaks for oil corporations and billionaires is a bigger priority to them.

This is why we fight. We can’t allow Republicans – and their skewed priorities – to control the Senate, and they will if they gain just four seats. What you do right now truly matters!

The end of this month marks a critical FEC deadline. If we don’t raise $710,342 by June 30, we won’t have the resources to hold the Senate and stop their extreme agenda – such as ending Medicare – from becoming law. We CAN win, but it won’t happen without an army of grassroots supporters – including you.

When I stepped up to lead the fight to keep our Senate majority, I told my Democratic colleagues that I would be all in, but I needed them to be all in, too. And they are. But that’s not enough. I need each and every grassroots Democrat to step up, too.

Yesterday, Republicans voted for the Ryan budget plan


Wanted to make sure you saw that the big vote just happened. Republicans in the Senate just voted to END Medicare. They might as well have grabbed the social contract we’ve promised seniors and ripped it right down the middle. But fortunately Democrats had the votes to stop them (not to mention the half million activists backing them up).

We plan to make this a huge issue in the election. Every single Republican who voted to end Medicare should be out of a job. Period. And we plan to do our best to make that happen. But going after them is expensive. You’ve signed the petition, which helps, but can you help us make sure every voter in America knows whose side the GOP is on?

We have to raise $119,000 by 5/31 to meet next month’s budget, so we can stick it to them for this vote. Can you kick in $5?

Four Senate seats are all that stand between our nation moving forward or falling back.

From my seat, I see President Obama and my Democratic colleagues working hard every day to do right by our families, communities and future. Across the aisle, extremist Republicans will stop at nothing to stand in our way.

The Democratic Senate is the firewall against their radical ideas. We have 23 seats to defend in 2012. Republicans have only 10. If they gain four seats, Mitch McConnell would be Majority Leader. Legislation from the House would sail through the Senate. President Obama’s agenda would end.

We can stop them. But I need your help to protect our Senate firewall. The DSCC already hit its monthly goal, but we need to keep on going.
