Tell Your Senator to Oppose Amy Coney Barrett’s Nomination

Don’t let Trump pack the courts. Take action now!

Dear Friends,

We need your help right away. President Trump has been relentlessly attacking our rights — this time by nominating Notre Dame law professor Amy Coney Barrett to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Barrett’s writings suggest that she thinks established court cases like Roe v. Wade should be open to challenge — which would encourage people to try to reverse these crucial Supreme Court decisions. She also has said that requiring insurance plans to provide birth control coverage is an infringement on religious liberty, a view directly at odds with eight appeals courts that have considered the issue. Her confirmation as a judge would put our civil, constitutional, and reproductive rights at risk.

The full Senate will hold a final vote tomorrow on whether to confirm her as a judge. That means they need to hear from you NOW.

Amy Coney Barrett has taken numerous positions that show why she shouldn’t be confirmed:

  • Her approach to legal precedents. She has explicitly questioned the precedential force of “controversial” cases, including Roe v. Wade.
  • Her willingness to let religion override access to birth control coverage. Barrett thinks employers with religious objections should be able to refuse birth control coverage, leaving women on their own to find and afford birth control.
  • Her opposition to the Affordable Care Act, which she has suggested is unconstitutional. This means that if the ACA is challenged in the courts and those cases come before her, her ability to rule impartially is in question.

The Senate will vote whether to confirm Barrett tomorrow – which means your senators need to hear from you today.

Send a message now to your senators to vote no on Barrett’s nomination.

Thank you for taking action.
