All along, we’ve known that Trump’s tax scam overwhelmingly benefited hedge fund managers and real estate developers like Trump―not working families.
This law is riddled with loopholes that enrich CEOs and wealthy shareholders. It encourages corporations to outsource jobs and shift profits offshore. But did you know that one of those loopholes allowed a member of Congress to buy himself a yacht?
That’s right! The very same day that House Republicans passed the tax scam for the rich and corporations, Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) bought himself a 70-foot multimillion-dollar yacht.
Republicans want to get elected based on their tax scam this year. But the reality is that they gave away $2 trillion mostly to the rich and corporations, ran up the nation’s debt, and are using that as an excuse to slash Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, education and more!
Help us shine a spotlight on Republican members of Congress who voted to enrich themselves, banks, drug companies and other Wall Street donors, and Trump, of course — not working families.
One of the tax scam’s loopholes will give Rep. Buchanan a personal tax cut of up to $2.1 million a year. (1) And while Republicans promised you that this law would result in a $4,000 wage hike and millions of more jobs―I’m pretty sure that purchasing a yacht isn’t what most working people had in mind.
We demand a tax system that invests in our country’s future! Not one that enriches members of Congress and their wealthy donors
Thank you for all that you do to demand a tax system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
