Stop the Drone Killings

Drone strikes and other extrajudicial killings outside of war zones are skyrocketing under the Obama Administration–and U.S. citizens are on the kill list.

That may sound too shocking to believe, but it’s true. It’s also completely unacceptable. Sign our petition urging President Obama to stop targeted killings beyond war zones and to demand transparency for how people end up on the kill lists.

These strikes are a real threat to your safety. Every time a civilian dies, we give al-Qaida a huge recruiting opportunity and validate their propaganda, and some estimates indicate that more than 90 percent of those killed are civilians. Because these strikes are carried out in secret, those who execute them do so with little or no accountability for the harm they cause to civilians and to our security.

Our new video shows the terrible impact of drone strikes and other extrajudicial killings, often taking place in support of the brutal, flailing war policy in Afghanistan. It shows that these strikes stoke popular anger against the U.S., and that extrajudicial killings without accountability are a basic threat to our democracy.

We’ve got to stop them.

Sign our petition and help us raise the alarm about the danger to U.S. citizens, at home and abroad, from unaccountable drone strikes and other extrajudicial killings.

Dear Carmen,

From extreme weather events and longer heat waves to more potent allergy seasons, global warming has a direct impact on our health. Fortunately, the Clean Air Act requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to protect the public’s health and the environment from the dangerous impacts of global warming by reducing heat-trapping emissions.

In order to effectively reduce global warming emissions, the EPA must work together with every state. Recently, each state sent the EPA a letter indicating whether it is ready and willing to work with the agency.

Fortunately, in its letter, your state indicated its willingness to protect public health and the environment by complying with the EPA’s regulations to reduce global warming emissions. Please thank your governor for agreeing to work with the EPA and encourage your state to continue its leadership on this important issue.

Republican Health Care Hypocrites

How is this for outrageous hypocrisy?

One incoming House Republican freshman is already complaining that the affordable health care coverage he gets as a Member of Congress — the same coverage that Republicans want to repeal for hardworking families — doesn’t start soon enough!

That’s right. Despite having his own health care paid for by the taxpayers, this incoming House Republican wants to tell hardworking Americans who are struggling to make ends meet that they’re on their own when it comes to affording coverage for their own families.

How many other Republican health care hypocrites do you think there are? Let’s find out.

Voice your outrage against Republican Health Care Hypocrisy. Sign our petition asking House Republicans if they’ll forgo their taxpayer-funded health care coverage before trying to repeal health insurance reform for hardworking Americans.
