Republicans say NO NO NO

Let me sum up this week for you:

President Obama: JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.
The Republican Party: NO, NO, NO.

President Obama presented his plan. The only plan Republicans have put forward is to say no to President Obama and yes to big corporations calling the shots, undermining the social safety net we pay for with our taxes, and, if you get sick: you’re on your own. In short: their plan is an assault on our values.

Their vision is dangerous – and we’re in danger of it becoming reality if Republicans flip just FOUR Senate seats in 2012. We can’t let that happen.

That’s why the DSCC needs your help to raise $585,000 before Sept. 30 so we can make sure Democrats don’t lose races that we can win. We literally can’t afford to fall short.

Please give $5, $10 or whatever you can give to the DSCC right now. The DSCC has only 10 days to raise $585,000 and fight the GOP’s assault on our values.

Rick Perry calls Social Security a “Ponzi scheme” and Mitt Romney compares it to a criminal enterprise. And now one GOP Congressman is complaining that President Obama’s plan would force him to live on just $400,000 a year.  Once again the GOP just doesn’t understand the challenges Americans are facing today.

2012 will decide whether we focus on creating jobs, like Democrats want, or protecting millionaires and big corporations, like Republicans demand. We can win.  But we need your help.

Please give $5, $10 or whatever you can give to the DSCC right now. The DSCC has only 10 days to raise $585,000 and fight the GOP’s assault on our values.

There are many reasons we’re Democrats. But perhaps one of the most important is this: We know that a strong middle class makes our country stronger.  Thanks for joining me to fight for what we believe in.

Sincerely,

Karen Finney

August …Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

We need to win August. Let me tell you why.

Every single month is a separate fundraising battle with the GOP. Winning these battles means we pick up momentum, and more races get funded. Losing these battles means momentum is lost, and we won’t be able to fund enough races. Pretty simple.

But does that matter now, in late August? You bet it does. Losing a monthly fight will allow Republicans to attack early, taking potentially competitive seats off the map right now. Imagine if Barbara Boxer’s first Senate run had ended before it started because a flood of unanswered attack ads drove her out of the race.

If we win every monthly battle, we can protect future progressive champions and current champions like Sherrod Brown, and make sure President Obama sees four more years. If everyone joins in and we can raise $55,000 in the next three days, it should be enough to win August.

And besides, wouldn’t beating the GOP to end the summer be worth $5? Click here to help make it happen.

Each month is a competition, plain and simple, us vs. the Republicans. Help win August.

Best,
Jason

Petulance … Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

Today, Eric Cantor and the House “Hell No” Caucus will again use their right-wing extremist budget demands to stonewall an agreement with President Obama.

And while they drive the nation closer to economic meltdown, they’re executing a strategy to use it politically against the president and every Democrat they can find. Rove‘s people are on the air right now in seven states.

So many grassroots donors have told us they want us to fight back hard on this. That’s why we created the Emergency Media Campaign last week. The response has been overwhelming, with more than $100,000 raised (see chart below). With the deadline on Friday, we’re more than halfway there.

Can you kick in $10 to get us there before Friday?   https://dscc.org/salsa/track.jsp?v=2&c=WcYCX19pcP81ulPnp90iBEwMG8IJatA0

We will defeat every Republican possible. We will defend every defender of Medicare. We will not let Republicans get away with their obstruction, petulance and blatant disregard for the people they claim to represent. And this Emergency Media Campaign will help do it.

If you believe in this effort too, will you kick in $10?

Click that link and say to yourself, “Hell no, Eric Cantor.”

        Best,
        Jason

new polling … Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

Hey, we’ve got some new polling that I wanted to show you:
Democrats are already competitive in two GOP-held seats, in UT and NV.
Democratic incumbents in OH and PA (Sherrod Brown and Bob Casey) look strong

GOP efforts to sabotage the economy for political gain are not paying off – yet. But Republicans are reading the same polls and writing big checks. Karl Rove’s group just made a $20 million ad buy in crucial swing states (including Nevada). We have no margin for error in 2012. If they flip just 4 Democratic seats, we lose the Senate.

Our FEC deadline 48 hours from now will help determine which states we can compete in, and which we must let go. We want to compete everywhere we’ve got a shot at victory. Your gift now can help make that happen. If we fall short, we’ll leave states on the table.

If everyone kicks in $5 we’ll have the $201,000 we need in the bank before midnight Thursday.

Thanks,

summer off …Jason Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications

Just want to drop you a quick note from headquarters. Right now the DSCC’s a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation. It feels like Election Day is next week.

That’s because the work that it takes to win is being done now. In fact, our ability to beat the GOP will be determined by whether we have enough money today and through these summer months. And because 90% of our contributions come from grassroots donors, your willingness to give to emails like this one will have a direct effect on whether we hold the Senate.

Democrats are protecting Medicare, Planned Parenthood funding and keeping the GOP from sending the economy into an abyss. But you can forget all of it if we take the summer off. This is when we all need to be aggressive with our donations, because the Republicans are not slowing down.

Can you help us with $5? We only have 7 days to hit our goal.

        Thanks,
        Jason
